They could have been a contender...
MTV is indulging the nostalgia trend! Which of these throwbacks do YOU think most deserve the Moonman that previously eluded them?
That time of year is here again. The ceremonies are almost upon us and it's time to get ourselves in gear and choose who we want to win a Moonman. So who will it be for you this year? I list 'em, you pick 'em. Simple as that. Which band do you think deserves to win a Moonman for Best Rock Video of the year? Hm?
[Depending on the amount of response from this particular one, I might do another category or two, if you'd like me to. Please give me feedback in comments and let me know.]
Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco and Foo Fighters are three rock bands that you always hear about. However, there are some great musicians that are putting out solid songs but aren't getting as much attention. Take a look at the artists listed below and vote on who you think is rock's best kept secret. Hopefully all of these artists will have their time in the spotlight.
Almost all men (and some women) can grow a beard. Some can do it in a matter of hours. How many beards do you see a day that look gross on the person? Take a look at these gnarly chinstraps, goatees and door-knockers and vote on who pulls off this hairy look the best. Will it be Mr. Grohl, Mr. Manning or maybe even Mr. Day?
Have you ever wanted to rock out on stage with Foo Fighters -- on a brass instrument? The Foos are set to play their hit song The Pretender at the 50th annual Grammy Awards and are holding Web auditions for string, woodwind and brass players. The 45 finalists will be narrowed down to three who will jam with the Foos before one winner is chosen to play with the band at The Grammys. You can find out all the rules at this link. This contest got me thinking -- Which rock band would you love to perform with on stage?
I'm stuck in a choice again.. But I can promise you that it's not about food this time, it's music.
So, I'm studying Music, Dance and Drama and we got a class called ensemble. My class is divided into three groups and we kinda create a band. We're 9 people in my group, which I think it's too many!
What I need you to do, is help me figure out what song the band will play and I will conduct it and stuff to make it sound the way I want it to sound. But the deal is ... There are many songs I wanna play! And I can only choose 1. I left out some, like Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah, because we are clearly to many people. Everybody have to do something!!
To make it easier I could tell a little about the people in my band/group.
Me - I can sing, play a little bass and teenie tiny piano. When it comes to my voice it likes to sing pop, but I don't. Can play clarinette, if I just repeat a little.
Siri - She can also sing and play piano, and also a bit guitar. She also got this light, weak voice.
Kristin - Plays the piano, guitar I think and she can sing.
David - The only one in the group, as far as I know, that can play the drums well. He also sing, but it's kinda out of tune. A living beatbox. Say he can play violin xD [if he find out I said that he will kill me!]
Karoline - She sings and plays the guitar. Also the violin.
Stine - Play piano a bit and also sing. I don't know if she can play the guitar.
Ida - Play bongo drums, a little bit of guitar if we just teach her the grip and she sing really well. She can also play the recorder.
Kjetil - Amazing at rapping and beatbox, as well. Play a little piano/keyboard - synth. Not sure how well he sings..
Fredrik - Plays the guitar very well, sing, play bass, some different types of brass instruments.
I might add some options sometimes, when I come up with new songs. So ... sorry about that :) But if you want to choose your mind [ if you already have voted ], just leave a comment, that way I would know.
Age ain't nothing but a number. These men are well out of their teens but still rock the stage night after night. All have been aging gracefully and continue to put out solid music. Out of all the geezers listed, who is your favorite?
