The concert was amazing.

That night I went to sleep smiling. The next morning I decided to go on my weekly run.

When I got home I smelled something.

It smelled pretty good actually. It was my mom's famous spaghetti. She hadn't cooked that ever since dad left.

I slowly and painfully worked my way up the stairs to my room.

"Mom, I'm home.....If you even care."

No answer. Oh well. She's probably hung over when I got home last night she was wasted.

When I opened my bedroom door, on my bed was my favorite person in the world. Alex.

He was asleep he looked beautiful even when he was asleep. I felt a little creeperish for watching him so I decided to try to wake him up.

I jumped up on him attempting to wake him up.

"Wake up Gaskank."

He jumped up and found my lips.

"I'm not a skank."

"Sure your not."

"Well I'm not that uy anymore. That's the old me."

"Well Mr.Gaskarth I think that you are doing are good job at showing that you are a changed man." 

Alex and I laughed at how I was talking for a little bit.

"So exactly how did you get in here?"

"I broke in." He said with a serious straight face.

I gave him an oh for real look.

"Ok okok just kidding. Your mom had let me in. Is she ok? Because I keep on hearing her throwing up"

"Oh. um don't mind her. She's just a little hungover?"

"a little?"

"Ok maybe she has a problem, but she always hasn't been this way.She used to be a good mom. The typical  loving caring mom, but-"

"Noel do you smell that?"

"Yeah. What the hell is it? It smells like something is on fire!"

We ran out of my room to see the house filled with smoke.

I started to freak out. Was my mom ok?

"Mom!? Where are you?"I didn't get an answer. I now was starting to panick.

"Alex go and get help"

Alex ran to find a useful phone to dial 911.

I ran down the hallway to my moms room. I went to turn the knob.

The door was locked. Good thing the door was very thin and flimsy. After a few unsuccessful tries I managed to kick a good enough sized hole in the door to climb through it.

I looked around her room and didn't see her. I went over to her bathroom.

I was starting to choke and it was getting harder and harder to breathe.

There she layed out on the tile bathroom floor.

In her hand was a lit cigerette, but I could tell that it wasn't the cause of the fire.

"Alex help me, I'm not strong enough. Alex! Help me. Please Alex where are you?"

I could hear him start screaming my name from the hallway.

"Noel don't worry. I'm coming don't move these floors could give out at any second."

He was finally in my sight. He helped me pick her up. We pulled her out of the house as carefully and fast as we could. It took a long and scary 5 minutes.

Only the lord knew if she was ok. After this I knew I would definately need therapy to get over how fucked up my life is. 

We layed her out i the front yard in the grass. It was a sunny day, but it was now a horrible hell day for me.

We waited for the ambulance and firetrucks to come.

I finally had a minute to really take in what was happening. I looked up at the house the only thing that me and my mom had left and now the whole downstairs had turnedinto a flaming inferno.

I fell to my knees.

What did I do to deserve this? Out of all the people in this world it had to be me Noel Marie Cruz. I've already had to deal with alot before I had moved here.

We moved here to start over. And look at what we got in return.

Now I have to go through loosing our house to a fire.

soo. now its starting to literally heat up in the story.
