Ronnie Radke sentenced

Bad news, Escape the Fate fans, bad news:

After pleading guilty to battery charges related to a brawl [involving guns] that lead to the death of a boy named Michael Cook, Ronnie Radke has been sentenced.

There were six people involved in the brawl; the only one who has been held accountable, however, is Ronnie. Two other people involved in the brawl were brothers Michael and Marcel Colquitt. They were charged with murder, but the charges were dropped. Marcel Colquitt committed suicide last September.

As for Ronnie, he pled guilty to one charge of battery with substantial bodily harm for his involvement in the brawl. He has been sentenced to five years' probation -- which includes stipulations that he must be employed full-time, go to drug and alcohol rehab, and stay out of trouble. He also can't transfer his probation to other states, which means he is unlikely to be able to tour with the band. He also has to pay nearly $100,000 in restitution to the mother of Michael Cook. (Shoutmouth)

Wow. Just... wow.

Doesn't really seem likely that Escape the Fate is going to continue as a band.

I read that on absolutepunk.com on Saturday and I felt like crying when I heard. My friends think that's the main reason he was kicked out of ETF- because he can't tour for five years and he's going drugs and whatever. And you know he's going to do something stupid between now and 2013 and leave the country or something and then get thrown in jail for even more time. GAH RONNIE WTF KID! Why can't you stay out of trouble?! I wanted to see ETF live againnnnn.

Didn't they kick Ronnie from the band like a month ago or something?
allisonfish: 01/21/2008 10:21 AM
Yea, and everyone thought it was because of drugs. And Ronnie posted an angry comment telling people not to listen to ETF without him or whatever.

I thought they were going to come out with a new album sometime this year according to AP. Damn this really sucks, I love this band. Not to mention the fact that they kicked him out, which pretty much means they're finished.
DienoSaurus: 01/21/2008 10:32 AM
that sucks :( SO NOT FAIR!

They can still come out with a new album as long as he doesn't have to leave the state to record it. Ronnie was kicked out of the band a long time ago but he's back now.

He confessed, people! Seems like he fucked his life up royally, stop feeling sorry for him. He gets the career of his dreams and he goes and destroys any chance of making it out of internet-fame because of drugs, alcohol and now this?

Thank you! Finally someone with a brain. I bet if you reversed the roles in this and had the Ronnie guy as the victim these people would be out for the blood of the other guys.
I swear, people are so blind anymore.

okay, although i'm not sure i've heard the real story, this is my opinion: from what i've heard, ronnie, who didn't even fire a gun, is the only one still with charges. chase rader, the one who KILLED and injured the two colquitts, has been dropped of his murder charges! now, from what i've seen, i think this is just a matter of someone wanting money. so, therefore, they're keeping the famous rich one around. saying that, i still believe that ronnie should go to rehab, and sort out his addictions. but he shouldn't have to pay money, or be on a five year probation!

Thank god he didn't go to prison. "Never resort to violence" - Gerard Way
