So the day before they fire up the LHC, my daughter turns to me and asks, "What will happen?" (concerned that if the world was going to be sucked into a black hole we'd all suffer horribly before winking out of existence).
I replied, "Don't worry, it will happen instantly, if it happens." (okay, like I know? Reassuring Mom-talk)
Her: "Well, if the world doesn't end, then I shall eat cake."
Me: "If it does not, we shall eat cake everyday until the world ends!"
Her: "Yay!"
