December 22, 20093 French Hens! There has been a lot going on lately!!! A lot of snow has fallen, but today i wake up to it being 48 degrees, raining and ALL the snow pretty much melted! We were going to go sledding tomorrow down this hill further up in Landstuhl! So disappointing... We made rice crispie treat Christmas trees and house yesterday. My family is not a big fan of gingerbread which is fine. Went shopping and got everything for our Christmas feast I am going to prepare! I hope everything turns out yummy. I asked Avii what she wanted to eat on Christmas and she said "Christmas Food!" So that is what we are going to eat :-) I am not too happy about how the order of events is going to go, but I am going to compromise with Jorden. I think it would be fun to just wake up, run downstairs and open stockings and presents, then I'll make breakfast. Jorden thinks we should eat breakfast first then open stuff... This goes against everything that I grew up with. I guess I'll just wake up super early and cook breakfast before Aveline wakes up, that way we can eat for 5 minutes then open everything :-) Compromise. I'll just try to squeeze in a nap sometime after gifts and before cooking dinner. I just gotta remember I am an adult and the most important thing about the Holidays is spending time with family and enjoying the day together!
Soooooo I am SO STOKED that my hubz is AWESOME and got me a dress by Rodarte for Target. They are pretty much sold out already of everything in stores and online. I had to order online and they BETTER not mess up my order. I got the beautiful golden yellow dress. The Ribcage Dress and Lace Leopard dress were sold out... but it's okay... I totally love the one I picked. I was going to go for black, but something so pretty and girlie should be in color. It reminds me of tea party or Alice in Wonderland almost. I can't wait to get it!!!! I am sad that so many people have bought the items and are selling them super marked up online. It's not fair, but life isn't fair I guess. I will count myself lucky for my good timing and my awesome husband!! He said I was not supposed to buy anything before Christmas, but considering the timing and everything selling out... I got a treat. I probably wont get it for 2-4 weeks anyways... it's kinda too cold to wear it anyways right now. So i have decided to write off drinking liquor for pretty much forever... I am a wine and champagne girl and even then, not so much or so often. Vodka is the death of me. Spiced Rum hurts. I have been into Gin lately and it does not inspire me and does not compliment my foods... I know wine. I like it and enjoy it and know my limits quite a bit better. I never feel like a sick pile of garbage after I drink it... so from here on out, cocktails are not for me :-) Mocktails? Yes! I can drink pretty things out of my new martini glasses! And being Frenchy as I try, champagne and sparkling wines are just for celebrations and delight! I think I want to get to the point where I do not drink anything at all. Just not now I suppose. Having a Johnny Cash moment!!
I need some plans for New Years eve out here. Jorden isn't working and I wanna do something fun and stay out late! I need to check the mail one last time tomorrow and rent some movies. I need a new book to read and I still need to figure out where I am going to do my journaling for 2010...I am still blasting my Christmas Playlist that has about 7 hours of Christmas music! 3 DAYS til Christmas!!!! Do you hate when you waste a totally cute outfit/makeup/hairdo on a day where no one really sees you and no one is taking pictures? Or is that totally vain?

September 14, 2009SippicupI gotz a sippicup Okay, so it's purple, and his name is Oswald. I know what you may be possibly be thinking, lol, but no, he's not named after the octoput on the tv network, Noggin, he's named after the sippicup (aka, himself). He's sooooo amazing, I took him to school on the first day and drank drinks from him, I could tell peeps were totally jealous, but if they get sippicups, I'mma gonna be sad :( Oh yeah, I got him at Target for 98 cents, lol, he was 75% on sale, I don't know why nobody would want him though, he's sooo cute.
This is me with Oswald!

Just post a comment to this journal thanks so much <3 Q1. What is your preferred drink of choice in pub/bar/hotel? Why? Q2. Do you prefer drinking shots or standard drinks? Why? Q3. Have you ever tried to get into a pub/bar with someone else's ID? Did the security allow you through the door with the "fake" ID? p.s this is for my journalism class. THANKS SO MUCH <3

April 13, 2008Not about Tequila the Drink, but....
I do go out to have a drink here and there. I assume most of the people
that read this do that also. And why not? Sometimes, you just haft to.
Other times for a damm go reason.
I did that last night "For the hell of it". I had nothing planned (Except for next weekend.) and i had itchy feet. Time to go somewhere ANYWHERE. So why Brandy's off of Findlay's Main Cross? (Or Brandi's, however you like. I dont care myself.) My own amusement, honest. A part of me did want to see if i can spot anyone i know from my past. But mostly, i just wanted to check the place out. I have hear stories from my step-brother Chad and his work pal Mike about "ooooooooooooooooooooooh, Brandi's is dangerous. One guy got stabbed and died for just spilling his drink by accident. Dont go there!" And so. And so. And so. Well, You only live once, right? Right. Try things out at least once, just to see if you like it. Right? Right! It took me a bit to get there since its been months that ive been to Findlay last. But when i got in...nothing like i except it to be. Sure, i had a skull rag on and i had to take it off cause of bar rules. (I guess its to keep the gangs out. If you ask me, If you want to keep people like that out, dont let them though the door in the first place.) But i had a good time besides that. Big dance floor, which would be perfect for get togethers with lady friends. The DJ was on his game that night. They have a few Arcade games set up that i got to try out next time. There was at least 5 (Count them, 5) Pool tables were set up and there was a several games going on. Including one with a old man and (I assume) his granddaughter going at it. And heaven help one of them missing a shot. ^^ The bouncers looked cool and i didnt get them any shit. And they didnt give me any either. For the record, i dont mess with bouncers no matter how drunk i am on any given night. Just not worth my time and energy. And i did get to see one of them (I Forget his name) throw at least 5 other people out when it started getting busy. THis was around...oh...10pm i think. I was there from i believe 8-9 to 11 btw. Which brings me to the bar itself. A big square near the door with nearly hard liquor known to man within. I had (For some reason) a Strawberry Cheesecake Martini. A thing of Strawberry Vodka, A thing of (I think) Vanilla Vodka and Cranberry juice. It was pretty good. Better then i expected, just like the place. Speaking of the pretty, hehehe, there was the barlady. I forget her name. She looked to be in her 40's Not bad for her age. All black clothes. Short red hair. Charming smile. BIG. NICE. RACK. With a deep neckline. And part of her rack showing. A ALL of her rack showing. Nearly half of it from the sides. and... Wait a second, who is that fucking giggling out there? You WHAT? You say you know whats coming next? Well, fuck you very much too. But your also very much right, so take what i just said as a compliant. Your ahead of the game. For the rest of you, here it is... Any time she needed to hear you or to serve your drinks or whatever... She leaned...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY OVER. So you cant miss it. To miss quote another bald headed equally observant guy you was there that night, i had undressed her with my eyes 6 times when i left. ^^ I can go on, but you get the idea. The place wasnt bad at all. If i had my serious issues with the joint, it was the ATM was on the fritz that night. I needed $20 to gas up afterwards, but i had my first (and hopfully last) encounter with a faulty dispenser. >.> So i had to get that $20 at the pump itself. Another one was that the bathrooms were a joke. Two toilets but only one door. Yep, One can was out in the open for the world to see. *sigh* I guess the guys there had to take a bit of a page from the girls by having everyone go to the mens room, so in case the stall with the door was in use, the guys would make a circle with their backs to the can so the guy can have SOME SORT OF PRIVATE wall around him to take a number 2 in peace. Which would suck for me cause i would haft to stare at mens asses while...you know...and im not into...you know. ANYWAY!...lol To make it short, Brandi's was a nothing deal at all. I feel very much comfy there and the Martini was great. If i got back there to have "proof", Brandy's/Brandi's is you'll find me from now on. Now i just got to remember to ask the bar lady her name next time. >.>... One last thing. I saw what they had called a "Doctor Morgon" or something or another. Dr. Pepper and Captian Morgan's Tattoo. I got to give that a try next time im there.

September 14, 2007My favorite places in Los Angeles (nighttime edition)The other night I met a couple of people at a bar who had moved to LA a few months ago and we were discussing their impressions of the city thus far and I realized that virtually every new resident of LA that I have met has had the exact same complaint. The majority of people who move here come not knowing a single person and not knowing much about the city. This makes these first few months here very lonely and very boring...which is why a lot of people end up fleeing this city and moving back to wherever they came from after only being here a couple months. The reality is, there are a billion awesome events and an unlimited amount of rad places to go, you just have to know where to look to find them...and most new people have no idea where to even begin to look. So I decided to post some lists of my favorite places to go in LA that I guarantee will make you love this city as much as I do. Favorite Restaurants: (Good food for those of us who don’t have loads of money to spend) *Swingers Diner: -Classic diner food served with a healthy twist. A wait staff that is mostly pierced, tattooed rockers. And cheap PBR. Yes please! *Scooby’s Hot Dogs: -Everyone on the planet has heard of Pink’s Hot Dogs (as is evident by the epic line that is always in front of it at all times of day). But I say FUCK PINKS! Sure they have a wide variety of hot dogs to choose from, but no food is worth standing in line and hour for. I don’t care how good it is. Instead go to Scooby’s! They only serve basic hot dogs with basic toppings, but they have the best fries you will ever eat, there never is a wait, and they play punk all day! *Home: -One of the most scenester restaurants in *101 Coffee Shop: -Typical greasy coffee shop food. Gotta love it! *Nate n’ Al’s: -A great deli to go if you want to do some US Magazine celebrity spotting. It’s in a ritzy part of Favorite Music Venues: Places that are great for seeing your favorite bands. And places that you can just wander into on any given night and see some great shows. *Knitting Factory: -With 3 stages in action every night, they are able to bring in fairly large national tours as well as profile small local shows. There is no backstage area, so you can hang out and have drinks with the bands in a pretty laid back setting. *The Troubadour: -One of the most legendary venues in LA. I mean, Tom Waits, Buffalo Springfield, and Elton John made their debuts here!! And this was the last place that Janis Joplin partied before she died! Not only is the history impressive, but it still manages to be the most cutting edge club in LA. If you want to see the bands who will be big 8 months from now, just head to the Troubadour. I may be a bit biased towards this club though, cuz I used to work there. *The Cat Club: -Wanna see what the Sunset Strip was like during the sex, drugs, and rock and roll 60’s and 70’s? Then you should come to this tiny, dirty club that houses some of the real LA rockers and the bands that play the old school LA rock ‘n roll. *The El Rey Theatre: -This is a large venue meant for big tour shows. It is absolutely beautiful inside and brings in some pretty impressive artists. *The Roxy: -Obviously this club is LA legend, and for good reason. They bring in some amazing shows, it’s a small and intimate venue, and there’s a pretty great upstairs section for hanging out and having drinks after the show. --Warning: A lot of people new to LA or visiting the city are tempted to go to the Viper Room. Just a word of warning that though the history of the club is legend and it is a decently cool venue, they rarely ever have good shows. They book maybe 4 or 5 good shows a year, the rest completely blow. I suggest going once just so you can say you went and saw it, then don’t plan on going again. Favorite Bars: Some epic places to PARTY! *The Rainbow Bar & Grill: -Technically this is both a bar and a restaurant, but I’ve never been there when the sun is up, so to me it’s just a bar. This is THE place to go to party like a rock star with actual rock stars until 4am. No pansies drinking cocktails with umbrellas and crap, so bring you’re A-game if you are gonna show up here. I've partied with many legendary rockers in my nights at this bar, you really never know who to expect. A few people who work there are friends of mine, SO TIP WELL WHEN YOU ARE THERE! *Tiny’s: -This is a very appropriately named bar. If you blink while driving down *Burgundy Room: -Very small, very dark, and very awesome. Another hidden, legendary treasure where the serious partiers go to hang out. Punk rock, strong drinks, and crazy rockers….the perfect formula for an awesome time. *Beauty Bar: -This is what you’d find if a bar and a beauty salon were combined. There’s DJ’s spinning rock n roll, drinks that give you your moneys worth, and manicures. It’s fun for everyone! *Bigfoot Lodge: -A ski resort taken over by psychobillies. They have events every night (including Hee Haw Hell on Thursdays and a rock n roll bingo Sunday nights, both of which I highly recommend). A very chill spot where you can just hang out with your friends or mingle with some of the LA rockabilly elite. Morrissey has even been known to show up occasionally! --Word of wisdom: Just go to
So this should cover your new nightlife in LA. Maybe eventually I’ll post a list of stuff to do and places to go during the day. But for now, I’m off to start my night and have some fun. Good luck out there new LAers!

October 13, 2006Barracuda Magazine & Ikon True Russian Vodka
Ikon True Russian Vodka made it between the covers of this month's Barracuda Magazines 8th Anniversary edition with a straight up review from the editor of this Los Angeles based Magazine.
And we quote: " Th' Barracuder Gourmet lliked this vodker (hic) a lot. The company was nice enough to shend ush wun fer free (hic), but it is reezunubly priced for what a good vodka it is. Much better than that cheapo $7 shtuff that kinda tastes like rubbing algohol. (Hic) I took it hotel campun and it mixed really nice with bloody mary mix, dummader juice and oransh juice. Oh, yeah Clamato, too, of course. But Clamato will make anything taste good, yah baloney. The real test (hic) is tasting the shtuff on its own. Ikon was rilly smoov like that. I kept it in the freezer and that made for nice chilled shot. Hey (hic) we should totally start a band. You're TOTALLY my best friend. Hic...." And, that is straight from the Barracuda's mouth. Cheers! And to check out more about Barracuda Magazine go to www.barracudamagazine.com

September 17, 2006Flaming Quike (this goes for Ramirkriza)
This is a very simple recipe for a really nice shot.
In a long drink glass pour like one finger and a half of vodka, one finger of tequila (or white rhum if you want it softer) and one finger of Cointreau.. Ok up to this point? Then cover it with the hand and shake it.. once it's shaken, put it on fire (kids, ask your parents for help with matches and lighters :D) and once is flaming cover it again. It will create a vacuum effect that extinguish the fire and keep the glass stuck to your hand. Repeat this step two times more, flaming it up to three times. In this third time, and while is still covered, stomp it against the counter, uncover it, sniff, drink and sniff again.. Thats all.. Ill try to make some pretty pictures to teach you all :D Q
