Ben Young is a great bassist. I vote for him. He is currently touring with the Pink Spiders but has experience with the Matches. Yeah Ben.

Flame Out: The Matches Lose Founding Member to 'Other Lives and Loves'
After 11 years, three records and countless tours, Justin San Souci of Oakland rock band, The Matches, has officially left the band.
While Souci has yet to make a public statement regarding his departure, the rest of The Matches have briefly explained what went down in a post on the band's MySpace: "It disarranges us to relay that our long-time bassist and friend, Justin San Souci, will be parting from the role of bassist in the Matches to pursue other lives and loves. He, however, will not be parting from the role of friend. Change is not an easy thing, but it does not stop until life does. Our hearts go out to Justin for being brave and true to his heart's pursuit." While upsetting, it's good to see that there is no bad blood between Souci and the band.
There has been no announcement of a new bass player joining the band, but The Matches have plans to tour Australia in September in support of 2008's A Band in Hope. Currently, The Matches consist Shawn Harris on vocals/guitar, Jon Devoto on backup vocals/guitar and Matt Whalen on drums.
In February, The Matches stopped by Buzznet to chat about Hayley Williams, Amy Winehouse, and soap ... among many, many other things.
