Hello Sacramento...I am inside of you!

so, I'm in Sacramento, CA until Sept 1st.

I got asked to do the high dive show up here at the CA State Fair so that's pretty cool I guess. Free $500/night hotel room for about a month, great pay for doing little to no work, and I get to go bungee jumping and get a tan for free :)

if you're in the Sacramento area make sure you stop by the Cal Expo and see me. I will most likely be announcing because I can't dive much due to my nagging broken back...but I'll be taking to the boards at SOME point during this fair!

showtimes are as follows:

M-Thurs: 3:30, 5:30, 7:00
Fri-Sun: 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, 7:00

(you also might have caught me diving on the "Goodmorning Sacramento" show, and keep your eyes peeled for other TV appearances!)

don't be shy, if you come see me please come and introduce yourself after the show!!!! :) :) :)

Home | About Us | Instruction | Dive Sites | Prices | Contact Us | Scuba Blog

Wow! A great day of scuba diving on the YO-257, super viz, no current, lots of sharks! Scuba diving in Hawaii is awesome!

Dive site one - YO-257 / San Pedro - Viz awesome 100' - Sharks, sharks, sharks, did i mention sharks! Eagle ray up close for pics (check out our flickr.com page http://www.flickr.com/photos/10968383@N04/ ) , was also full of turtles and no current at all, super dive!

Dive site two - Kewalo pipe - viz great 60' - Well a little let down after that YO-257 dive but lots of eels, schools of fish and a good reef to scuba dive.

PADI Scuba diving the ship wreck YO-257 on Oahu, Hawaii

There are actually two ship wrecks to see at this site, This is definitely a two-for-one dive.

YO-257 Shipwreck
Arguably the most exciting ship wreck to dive on the island of Oahu. The YO-257 was a Navy yard oiler built in the 1940's. It was bought by Atlantis Submarines Hawaii and sunk as an artificial reef off Waikiki in 1989. The ship rests upright in 100 feet of water with the main deck about 85 feet. It has been prepared for diving with many large access holes cut through the structure. Visibility is normally 100+ feet. There is sometimes a strong current at the surface, but a decent line is always rigged to mooring buoys on the wreck. You can expect to see lots of green sea turtles, white-tip reef sharks, eagle rays, and even get your picture taken by the occupants of the Atlantis Submarine. That's right, the tourists will be inside the submarine looking out at you.

San Pedro Shipwreck
In 1996, a new ship, the San Pedro (80 feet long) was sunk within 50 yards from the YO257 (190 feet long). It is the home of many colorful fish, moray eels, lots of turtles, and white tip reef sharks may be found around the wreck.

Check out our PADI scuba courses for instruction on the Wreck Diver Course or the Deep Diver Course while diving on these ship wrecks.

Kewalo Basin Pipe
This site provides you with easy navigation and the opportunity to see the elusive dragon eel. There is an abundance of aquatic life to observe and photograph. Maximum depth is 60 feet.

Home sweet home

We got home today from the Bahamas, and I am so glad to be sleeping in my own bed tonight! The trip was nice and relaxing..but I think I'd like to take a break from the Bahamas for a while. It did get a little boring. Best part was diving at Athol Island, and the Casino Royale was my 2nd fave. I love gambling all my money away.

Im looking forward to planning my next trip to anywhere besides the Bahamas.
