Finished dress :]]]]]]]
So please ignore the TOTALLY retarded smile on my face. I'm not photogenic at all, and all the pictures up of me are like, the result of over 50 tries at a decent shot. Wah. Okay, that's enough self-pity for one post.
So the play is called Once On This Island, and this is my dress :] My character is the goddess of the earth, hence the earthy tones and zebra pattern. You can't really tell, but the sash type thingy is sparkly, along with the brown trimming at the bottom.
I designed it, my mother worked her magic ;] She's not a seamstress, AT ALL, but she managed to make it in about 4 days.
You should see the hideous dress that was bought for me in the first place. Let's just say it was the lovechild of a dragon and a turtle. It was that bad. Not to mention about 20 sizes too big. No exaggeration. There was NO way I was walking on stage wearing that piece of drapery. :P
So next week is hell week, which means the show is almost over.
Thank GOD.
It's fun and all, but at the same time, it's very tedious. Same thing. Every day. I'd never survive on Broadway ;] let alone be good enough to make it there. haha.
So today I was eating a Dove dark chocolate almond candy thing, and they have these little promise messages inside the wrappers, and it said "Be a Dark Chocolate Diva Today." I gave it a huge "what the fuck?" and threw it away.
Then I began to wonder, and my mind went on a roller coaster ride.
Seriously...what if a dude was eating Dove chocolate, and happened to get that wrapper? Does Dove just assume that their chocolate is only for women? I've never heard of a gender-specific candy before...am I missing something? Was I living under a rock for awhile? (more than likely...)
Anyways, that's my thought for the day.
