Well just to add to my big dark room I'm now in money trouble too. I feel worse than I have felt for years. Tips for people considering university:

DO NOT UNDER ANY CICUMSTANCES RENT A ROOM FROM THE UNIVERSITY ITSELF- Chances are you they will charge you through the nose for it. Example, my room is tiny and costs me £350 per month, whearas I can have a two bedroom flat for the same price.

YOU DO NOT NEED ALL THAT MULTICOLOURED HALLOWEEN CRAP

IGNORE WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT IT BEING CHEAPER TO EAT HEALTHY- It probably is cheaper to eat healthy if you have freezer space, but I have to share a freezer with 12 people, so anything I make I can't actually fit into the freezer because of the two dozen (expensive) ready meals that my flatmates bought are in the way. So ramen noodles it is then.

THINGS ARE CHEAPER ON THEIR LAST DAY- See in my local Tesco they have this thing called a "reduced to clear isle" where you can by things on the last day before their expirey date as well as things that have been vandalised (dinted tin of finest baked beans for 10p anyone?). Chances are you will get laughed at for rumageing around and occasionaly screaming "OHMYGODSLOOKATTHEPRICEOFTHESETOMATOS!" but I've managed to get my spending down to £10 or less per week for food. Also most things are fine after their expirey date, I have some Chillis from a month ago still in the fridge and they're still perfectly fine.

IGNORE THE PEOPLE YOU LIVE WITH THAT GO OUT DRINKING EVERY NIGHT- These people are either gonna run out of money, end up in debt, or have rich parents who are funding their spending.

YOU CANNOT AFFORD ALCAHOL- Unless it happens to be on the reduced to clear isle (see above), and for the record I got three bottles of Polish beer that had been duct tapped together for £3 the other week and they were DIVINE.

IF YOU HAVE A BIG ENOUGH SINK IN YOUR ROOM THEN HANDWASH YOUR CLOTHES- I spend more per week on washing my clothes in the coin opperated university laundrey than I do on food.

THINGS YOU SHOULD SPEND ON:

Things you need for class
PMS Chocolate
Vegan margerine (if you are a Vegan)
Pro Plus (ignore frightened parents, if you read the label then they're perfectly safe).

Today i found our that my best friend, she is seen as my sister, is getting married... more like FORCED into getting married and that to a guy (ex bf)  that used to abuse her. I FUCKING HATE HIM!!! She is getting married coz she is in a little debt and now he is taking advantage of her and blackmailing her into marriage!! She recently had a miscarriage (wasnt his child) and went all depressed. She is MUCH better now but now he is screwing her over again. I told her i refuse to be at her wedding seen as she doesnt love him at all and she cried alot. I felt so bad and still do but i cant bear to see her in a wedding dress ready to marry a women abuser!! I dont know wot to tell her......
