From rooftops to side walks.

She’s sick of the smile you slide in to place
Her guess, to make her knees go weak
Her inhibitions fade
If she’s just another pretty face
Then why don’t you walk away
You know you’ll never feel the same
Leave her with the promise
That you’ll remember to call
And run as fast as you can
From the feeling that you’ll fall
For her messy hair
And taunting eyes
The way she never believed your lies
Lock the door
Shut off the lights
Because if you stay beneath the sheets
She would get the chance to be
The only girl that chose to leave
You know that she’ll be just fine
You’ll both move on
Give her time
But now you want to be
More than just a smile she
Left on the floor
And still you think that she’s the one
That will come running back for more
You should not have been the one to
To walk out that door
Because a girl like her doesn’t need
Another boy that’s not afraid to leave
So wipe that smile off your face
You weren’t the one that started this game
With every breath
And every sigh
Surely you’ve realized it was all a lie
