This Really Pisses Me Off

This week my friends and I are exchanging holiday gifts, and I still haven't decided on what i'm getting some of my friends. I decided to check out the Urban Outfitters website to see what they had because maybe they would have something my friends would like. As i'm checking out the website I come across this t-shirt:

If you don't know who this man is well his name is Che Guevara, and he is no hero. People know him as a man who wanted to do good for his country. Really though he joined Fidel Castro and killed thousands of people. He was a horrible man and it sickens me that people are making t-shirts with his face on it. People that wear this shirt sometimes don't know what this man was truly about, but they should be educated about him. They should know all the horrible things he has done and that he shouldn't be considered a hero. Here is an article on Che:

I don't know if I am going to contact Urban Outfitters about this, I probably will though because this man is disgusting and doesn't deserved to be recognized as a hero.

I hate how he's on people's shirts, and he's considered a hero. He was disgusting and caused a lot of people havoc. He doesn't deserved to be looked upon like a God!

I wasn't familiar with him prior to this blog. I don't think the shirt is necessarily saying he's a hero (unless it says it somewhere on the site advertising it?). I think it's an aesthetically pleasing picture, and had you not mentioned who he was, I might have considered picking the shirt up if I found it for a few bucks at a thrift store somewhere down the road. Does the store page mention him at all?

Basically it says start a revolution and pick up this shirt. People think he is a hero, I mean people celebrate his life on the day he died. People think of him as a hero and some people buy this shirt because they think he is a hero or because it's the latest trend to follow. They don't know what this man is really about. They shouldn't have his face on their shirt if they don't know he who was or what his cause was.

It's not entirely obvious from the shirt alone that it's not just an original drawing in a realistic style. I wouldn't think badly of someone who had erroneously picked it up. Just the same, yeah, it does seem to be in poor taste that it's mass out there like that.
