Coachella 2007 (Day 2) ----> getting into the groove....
Friday was long, but Saturday was longer. I woke up at 7:30am to meet up with the AAA tow truck. It turns out, both my back tires had to be replaced. There was a bubble on the inside of the back left one. We were so lucky that nothing worse happened!
Then it was off to the Buzznet/ WESC/ Anthem Magazine party - complete with Rony's Photo Booth!

[footnote: I am listening to Little Radio (based out of Silverlake) right now, and the DJs were just chatting about Coachella - no joke. One chica ended up having to sleep in her car due to last minute travel planning. She goes on to say, "I used a towel as a blanket... and I'm 30." What a great moment in live radio!]

We left around 3ish to head over to the festival. Our goal was to make it to see Hot Chip at 4pm. There were a lot more folks coming out this time around. I did make it back in time to catch a bit of Peter, Bjorn & John. It was just a tiny crumb though.

Here's what I did manage to see:
- Kings of Leon ---> These guys rock. I wasn't that into this band a few years ago, but the Kings of Leon have grown on me recently. I guess that Jetta commerical really got to me afterall.
- The Arcade Fire ---> I have always been a fan of this multi-instrumental collective from Montreal. It was my first experience seeing them live. It was magical.
- Blonde Redhead ---> I must admit, my pictures of this band turned out really well. Stay tuned - Missy is on the case fixing up her photo gallery! Watching Kazu Makino on stage is mesmorizing. The way she moves her body in sync with the Italian twins is not to be missed.
- LCD Soundsystem ---> This was the show to see on Saturday. James Murphy is an absolute genius. All of us were blown away! It's even better live than on the records, if you can believe that.
- The Good, The Bad and The Queen ---> There were technical problems on stage, so the band came on a good 30 minutes late. Such a shame, but they started to play their entire album. I love that concept - experiencing an album live in its entirety. I didn't stay for the whole set, but I hope they got to play most of it.
So we headed back after that. I found this guy's PDA on the ground, and luckily managed to return it to him. And in that crowd, that was a true miracle! Long day and too tired for after parties, I managed to sleep really well that evening.
