Just so ya know

Ive just had a college week. It was awesome. Ive come back feeling all inspired and hopeful.
We had one lecture on global warming, and what the climatic modeling predicts...not in itself all that hopeful to say the least. Its not just about reducing carbon consumption now...and yeah we are not even really doing that. Nope we are going to have to do a little engineering to counter those pesky positive feedback loops . And yes thats a scary subject. Cos it involves fucking with a really complex biological system that we don't understand (i.e. the planet). But actually maybe we don't have to fuck with it so much, maybe we don't have to put shades around the planet, which could exacerbate many of the problems, or fill the seas with iron or the skies with sulfur. Maybe we can find approaches that really just help the earth system sort itself out, and in the process of countering catastrophic climate change, we find other ecological, and social benefits (see biochar. Probably we will have to use a range of techniques. Its not gonna be easy. We might not make it. But we its worth a shot. If we do get it right another world is possible. It could be much better. We are in it together.
anyway Im feeling positive, dont knock me down. Ill sink down on my own prolly in a day or 2.
