World's end

So apparently the world is ending tomorrow.
RIIIGHT
Maybe it is true, in which case maybe I should have found a religion, maybe I should have been a better person, maybe I should have done more, maybe I should have told people the things I'd always wanted to tell them.
I wonder if for even a split second we'd know we were about to be exploded into oblivion? Or would it just happen?
I really hope it happens when I'm at home, not at work experiance with a bunch of 6 year olds.
By the way I don't actually believe any of this, mainly because I don't understand how something we've been doing for years but in a bigger scale could blow the world up. (Research CERN and LHC if you need some clueing up.)
But when so many people are talking about blowing up and dying and all this stuff, you can't help but think stange things.
Goodnight, hopefully not goodbye.

End of the World=August?

Okay, people. If anyone is particularly bright, or has read the book Angels&Demons, you'll be familiar with CERN. I haven't read the book in a while, so correct me if I'm wrong, but they did have the Large Hadron Collider (a particle accelerator), right?

Well, anyways, it appears as if the real life CERN, which is located in the northwest suburbs of Geneva, on the franco-swiss border, is set to set off their LHC sometime this August. Speculation is, is that they will find bizarre things such as invisible matter or separate dimensions in space after turning it on. Earlier in the year, they were convinced that they could tear a hole in the fabric of space and time, thus, creating a time machine.

Critics of the project are worried that it could possibly lead to the creation of a black hole forming and swallowing up the whole world, or convert our planet into a shrunken dead lump of strange matter. Either way, human life would be fucked.

So what do you think? Is the possibility of the extinction of the human race worth it if we can maybe find "invisible matter" or alternate dimensions?
