School started yesterday, and at my brother's university they gave away mini cacti as a "welcome back to schül" gift.

They're cheap? Cacti need very little to flourish but them uni kids have the whole world at their beck and call? kids like stabby things? hell if i know

cute cactus! I bet at the end of the year it will be a boost to the self-esteem that many of the cacti will still be alive ... also it's a disincentive to letting your room get too messy, because wouldn't you hate to "find" a cactus by accident?
