featured I HAVE HIGH HOPES THAT HE MADE IT......

This is my male Monach that I released on October 20th down on the South Shore of Long Island. We haven't had a frost or really cold temperatures since I released him. But as I'm typing this it's now 30 degrees out and our first frost of this season. So I think Mr. Monarch probably had more then enough time to get off LI and go on his long trip to Mexico. He was so beautiful and very cooperative with posing for me. I'll miss my butterflies but will be dreaming about them until spring comes back again ~

Stunning butterfly - I hope he made it too - they are amazing, you wouldn't think they could survive storms and bad weather but they do.
I saw my last butterfly - a Red Admiral , on Nov 1st. It was a solitary one resting high up on a tree.
