November 16, 2009Britney Spears Circus in Sydney!Oh my god. Holy Shit. Last night was amazing.
Britney's first ever tour of Australia was fucking awesome.
The supporting act was a DJ called Havana Brown. She was really good. She mixed some really good songs and the whole crowd got into it.
After DJ Havana Brown the lights when down and this came up.
Everyone started screaming and clapping in excitement. The time counted down until it was up to 10 seconds and the whole crowd (including myself) were like "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!!!". Everyone started screaming and stomping. It was all so exciting! Then all these people started doing circus acts on the stage like balancing acts and dissapering acts. They were really good but I think everyone just wanted to see Britney. Then they finished up and this showed up.
It was this round screen where he was talking about the circus and all the crazyness of it. By this time everyone was screaming at the top of thier lungs and calling out "We love you Britney!!!". Then the screen came up and the star herself came down on this:
Everyone was screaming soooooo loud and I was starting to loose my voice already lol. She went straight into singing "Circus" and everyone happily sang along to the song. She sang most of her hits such as "Hit me baby one more time", "Boys", "If U Seek Amy", "Womanizer", "Radar", "I'm a Slave for You", "Toxic", "Me Against the Music" and "Everytime" :
She played some songs I'd never heard of before I was like ... :| And she didn't play many of her old songs such as "Crazy" or "Oops I did it again" and "Sometimes". And she also didn't play many songs from her Circus album, which I was dissapointed about considering it is her circus tour. Another thing I'm dissapointed about is she didn't really talk to the audience that much. Like all she said to us the whole show was "What's up Sydney?" and everyone screamed. Then she said "C'mon I think you can do better than that." and EVERYONE screamed so loud! Then she said "Ok I'm gonna slow it down now with ballad, it's called Everytime". WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! She didn't sing live but I don't really care because there was so much going on that you weren't really thinking about whether she was lip synching or not. And I'd rather hear her voice sound good then like shit.
All in all she played a good show, apart from a few dissapointments. I'd rate the concert an 8 out of 10. Let's hope it's not too long until she comes back to Australia to tour again!

October 15, 2009Ohhhh fashion, what are you these days?SO much has been changing lately, it seems as if every Fall, its out with the old and in with the new, well now with my new bf things seem to be getting wierd, but it may just be because im paranoid, grrr, ya not gonna go into that... but im fine ill deal with it, things will hopefully get better. now im enrolled in college, im actually taking it online, im going to get my Bachelors Degree and Major in Fashion Merchandising. yay... finally getting my life together. Most people crave food, some crave boys.... I crave clothes!!!! true fact. blah blah... i am so boring haha. anyways i wanted to write a journal expressing my opinion and thoughts on this one subject that ive been thinking about for weeks now. Fashion lately is so plain and boring, its the same thing everywhere, i used to think its just the small town where i live at {that things were only plain and boring here} but now i realize its everywhere. Sometimes getting things plain and boring can be a good thing because it just gives you more of a reason to make it yourself, and accesorize it your way. but on the other hand MOST people will still end up looking boring and just like everyone else. Everyone is unique in their own special way, but do we all have to conform ourselves all to look the same??? seriously. grrrr. Its ridiculous how now so many celebrities are coming out with new lines, clothing/perfume lines. i think most people do it because of this whole beccoming a fashion designer fad or to have the label of being a "fashion designer", it kinda upsets me because whoever it is will have gorgeous outfits in life but their designs are so plain. For example Miley Cyrus, i personally love all of her Hannah Montana clothes, so i would expect her lines to be kinda inspired around that style-ish. But they arent, they are just normal type stuff that would blend in with the rest of the racks at the store. no offense to her or anything. at least with Selena Gomez's line it has her style incorporated with it. I will admit i love Brittney Spears and Paris Hiltons perfumes, so that is talent right there, hahahaha, but stillll. I could understand with how shitty our economy has been lately that everyone wants to make "come-backs" and "lines" out for everything to make money, but its like if there isnt any talent with those lines, its not worth it, even tho most people will just buy it for the name on it. But it just makes all the underdogs with tons of talent have to work so much harder grrrr. I know im probably nowhere even close with my designing, but i am talented compared to a lot of the "fashion designers" out there, i mostly do it for fun, cuz im veryyyy passionate about it, even tho i will be getting a photographer soon so i can "model" some of the clothes/handbags/accessories that i have made. and maybe come out with a new line on ebay or something haha.... just to make some money to help pay for school... i dont know... probably not, but who knows anymore. anyways, thats it for now, i might add more later and some pics too, xoxox Mercade Ariel

July 24, 2009Song Battles: Songs with Similar/The Same Titles (Steph's Edition Part 1)since Breesays came up with a brilliant idea of comparing bands' songs with similar titles, I decided I would do my own. so, um, here we go! 1st on the docket: (yes I know this was posted already by Bree but I wanted to post it again) Fall Out Boy vs. the King of Pop (oh why do I keep talking about him?) Michael Jackson with "Thriller".
umm, so I guess this is too obvi. While FOB's song has Jay-Z rapping on it, no one shall beat the awesome verse of Vincent Price. but hey. I love both. and, uh, in case if you're wondering, "Beat It" doesn't count since it was a cover. 2nd on the docket: Britney Spears vs. The Script. "If U Seek Amy" vs. "If You See Kay"
Ahh. This case now involves the clever euphemisms for a certain f-word. I love both songs. I love Britney. But I have to give it to Danny O'Donoghue and crew though. Aside from being my "current obsessions" as I like to call them, doesn't "If you see Kay, tell her I love her" make more sense and pleasing to hear than "All the boys and all the girls are begging to If U Seek Amy."? I mean, since when did Brit Brit pull a Tila Tequila? 3rd on the docket: State of Shock vs. Drake "Best I Ever Had"
ok. so they're both Canadian. (SOS from Vancity, Drake from Toronto.) both songs are top 5 hits in Canada. and the songs talk about virtually the same thing, about a girl being, uh, the best they ever had. but, State of Shock gets my vote because not only are they from my hometown, they don't sound like Lil Wayne clones and are not from Degrassi. 4th on the docket: Kanye West vs. Jonas Brothers, both with "Paranoid". is this even worth asking? Kanye FTW. Disney stars should never write about things like paranoia. and 5th/last on the docket: Brooke Nolan vs. The Midway State - "Stupid Love Song" vs. "Stupid Love Songs"
uh-oh. another Van/Toronto combo. although I do love both, I choose Brooke, who is my other obsession. but The Midway State are cool, don't worry. Bonus one: Hedley vs. Three Days Grace with "Never Too Late"
I almost forgot to post this one. Hedley's is upbeat ska pop and the video pays tribute to Duran Duran's video for "Rio", while Three Days Grace's dark ballad advises people not to commit suicide. I say both since Hedley are one of my fave local bands and TDG's song has a lot of meaning and depth.

July 21, 2009Britney Spears "live"So I was at the Britney Spears concert in Copenhagen (07-11-2009) I'm not really a fan, but the last time she was in Denmark (2004) i promissed myself that next time I HAD to see her and so I did!
All in all it wasn't as much a concert as it was a circus (performing to music of course) and just all in all an unforgetable experience! As you can see I wasn't exactly close too the stage, because even though it was a great show, the tickets where... well you get my drift!

June 30, 2009Dandys' brand to die for! Circus anyone?Saturday me and my friend went to Katsuya in Hollywood and ordered so much sushi, more than I've seen in my life! I was in heaven lol. After we drove around town then stopped by at a hookah lounge. At night I met up with some other friends at another hookah lounge! I woke up with the worst soar throught. My virgin lungs can't take too much hehe. Sunday I went to the beach for a family friends birthday. It was so windy the entire time but was still fun. At night A few of us went to Hot Wings Cafe then home.
Today I just got back home from a long day of running errands. I woke up in the morning and went for a jog then to the Apple store this morning and got my phone fixed, I just bought it last week and already problems! well they're all fixed now thankfully. After I went to return some shoes, post office then car wash. Just now I stopped by at HK market and bought a bunch of Chinese and Japanese snacks and food. They have the best spicy shrimp flavored chips and custard cakes...can't wait to eat them tonight! Right now I'm about to make margaritas and eat with my family. I rented Defiance and Confessions of a Shopaholic so I hope they're good! I hate putting in a movie and then regretting even renting them haha.
Yesterday I ordered Britney Spears tickets! I'm finally seeing her after years ring side baby! September 23rd at Staples Center can't wait!
Tomorrow I'm going in for my teeth molding and xrays....I'm getting braces at the end of the month =[ but they are very clear looking new kinds that don't look to bad at all so I'm okay with it. What kind of snacks do you gusy like to munch on? Did anyone see Britney's Circus tour yet? what did you think?

...And WHAT a show it was! You can't really call it a live concert, well of course Britney was there, but she didn't sing a note during the entire show! But at leat she didn't try and fake it, cause frankly she didn't even lip-sync! And when you overlooked that fact and just focused on the show it was the most amazing thing! She took the album title serious and really became the ringmaster in her own personal circus! The whole thing started with some of the most brilliant perfomers, and this cute little midget - who btw totally worked the crowd! And during the show I got to experience Britney in various - well I won't call them outfits, as much as a wide selection of her underwear - but I have to admit I LOVED IT! It was nice to see her in a healthy shape - not too fat not too thin - and also without it becoming a 2nd MTV awards and without her looking slutty!
