April 17, 2009Birds of the world, BEWARE!I officially don't like birds no more, there are a few reasons for this but the main reason is they keep me awake, and it sucks. I sleep with my small window open, and in the morning I have this one stupid idiotic pigeon that likes to sit on my window and go... COO COO COO! COO COO! And I wake up and think 'oh what’s this' and I end up either screaming 'SHUT THE HELL UP' or tapping my window so it fly’s away. But seriously I think this bird had a death wish. So in my opinion, kill the birds. Although the ‘bird woman’ from the film ‘Mary Poppins’ isn’t going to have anything to do, now I feel guilty for her.

October 12, 2008The Punisment of the Paradise
"I saw my dream fly away like a bird that escaped my body. It is dificult to touch something that can fly like a bird because dreams are born to live free in the mind, as the birds to the skies. Don't try to taste the apple of paradise. Because the dreams keep all the secrets and the magic of our lost paradise." Copyright Constantinos Grigoriadis © All rights reserved

October 6, 2008A Very Immature Movie Review and Weekend Wrap-UpSo, yes, I was a busy one this past weekend. First of all, there was this...
I'm not a huge fan, but my nephew is; so, we decided to go. It was pretty fun. Someone tried to bite me @o@! Then, I visited my mom under the guise of being fed (just kidding, I love going to see my mom) and attempted to re-enact a scene from Hitchcock's "The Birds," when I tried to get a picture of her pet bird Rocky who is a starling...
Then, I finally got out and bought my "Iron Man" DVD and watched it. I wanted to do an extremely witty and clever review in the vein of Jerry (vaginaldischarge); however, all I got were 25 immature observations I made during the movie...Here they are...don't worry about me giving anything away about the movie...the observations are immature as I said.. 1. AC/DC in any movie is always cool. Gets the blood pumping and the head banging (lame). So, that was my weekend. How was yours? Related Groups:

July 13, 2008Sunrise, sunset.
What am I doing up at almost 5:30 in the morning?
I stayed up through the night, and it is now the early morning, and I can hear the birds chattering at a boisterous noise level. I actually love the sound of the birds early in the morning. I feel like I'm eavesdropping on them. While I'm on the subject of the ungodly hours of the morning, let me brush upon sunrises. Gah. They are beautiful. And I think I regard them a little higher than I do sunsets. Most everyone can see the sun set if they choose to, since most are awake at the time of a sunset. But a sunrise feels like a personal experience. I think getting up (or staying up, in my case) early is a cozy experience in and of itself. Enough of my senselessness, I hope you are all getting more sleep than I am.

May 12, 2008Freudian Regression: Why I don't like birds
I don't remember ever having been very fond of birds, but during the last two years or so I've been feeling an especially strong repulsion against them. This may have to do with the fact that I've been spending more time in Vienna, a city infested by parasital pigeons to the max. I do like when birds sing and I recognize many of them have pretty colors - but the beaks and feathers and claws just freak me out.
My ex-boyfriend's family has a parrot called Jakob and everytime they took him out of his cage, I felt somewhat uneasy. I'd rather have spiders and snakes on me than a bird. People try to convince me that they're cute and everything, but I don't know. Also, it's not really a harcore phobia - I just don't like them. But I recognize the good things they do for nature, like eat bugs and shit on people's expensive cars. That's nice of them. Just very recently I was able to backtrack where this disgust of birds comes from: My encounter with Aschenputtel/Aschenbroedel ('Asche' is 'ash' in German; Cinderella in the English speaking world) by the Brothers Grimm in my childhood. This fairy tale ABOUNDS with creepy birds. Creepy birds that use creepy vocabulary (and aren't only parrots supposed to speak?! SUPER CREEPY!). (I'm listing the birds with the help of the German Wikipedia entry - the Brothers Grimm version - because it's been a while since I heard that horror story for kids and I probably suppressed some birdish bits for the sake of my mental health:) 1. A white bird (a dove? - Just a fancier name for a dirty city pigeon!) shows up everytime Cinderella cries and prays at her mother's grave. This bird grants her some wishes. This is mildly eerie to me. 2. A bunch of pigeons (!!!) show up and help Cinderella separate lentils from ash on the floor so she can go to the ball. The beasts swallow the bad lentils and put the good ones in a jar or pot while CONSPIRATORIALLY CHANTING, 'Die Guten in's Toepfchen, die Schlechten in's Kroepfchen!' ('The good ones into the pot, the bad ones into the crop.') The English word for 'Kroepfchen' doesn't disgust me really, but the German version does for some reason. My feelings are very connected to my linguistic idea of aesthetics, you know. I couldn't eat lentils that some bird has had in its beak before. Yuck plotz. 3. Two pigeons (?!?!) reveal that Aschenputtel's mean step sisters only fit their feet into the shoe she's lost at the ball because one of them cut off her big toe and the other her heel. They do so by crying, 'Rucke di guh, rucke di guh, Blut ist im Schuh!' ('*disgusting unintelligible pigeon sounds* There's blood in the shoe!') Birds singing about blood in shoes. That's a horrifying image burnt into my memory from childhood days. And that's why I don't like birds. It's the Grimms' fault. P.S.: You expected some penis here, huh? Rucke di guh, no penis in this shoe.

April 11, 2008Today I'm loading the ARKToday I’m loading the ARK. In it I’m putting every collie I can find, and then pairs of other animals and a few of my favorite people. Get in touch with me quickly if you want onboard. It’s raining AGAIN! After a brutal winter, the most snow ever in my almost fifty years of life, spring is heralded with storm after storm. It will snow a while, then thunder and lightening and turn to downpour for a few hours and then back to snow. So much for April showers. The birds in my tall pine trees behind the cabin are soggy and irritated. They fly to the feeder, grab seeds, shake off the water they can from their feathers and then fly back to the pines. At this time of year they usually sing for hours in the morning. Not this April. They have moved progressively lower with each gloomy, rainy day. On a sunny day, they sing and trumpet their spring songs from the treetops. When the rains arrive, they move under the first layers of thick pine branches to stay dry. The longer and harder it rains, the lower they move. This morning I awoke to find a group of finches, chickadees, robins and blackbirds, huddled together sodden and sullen on a low branch, under the thickest part of the pines. If this keeps up I expect many will die of exposure, unable to maintain their body heat in the wet, despite my full bird feeder fifty yards away. I’m not driving anywhere these days. It’s too wet to even take the bike out on the drive or roads. Muddy footprints adorn the deck, and the triple-brush boot scraper by the stairs, which works so well with summer’s dry clay, now just flings slumping muddy clumps far and wide, exponentially expanding the potential that a hairy dog paw or newly cleaned boot will inadvertently transport the mess inside. In a few weeks the real spring will arrive, with wild turkeys gobbling across the valleys, songbirds nesting and trout swirling in the deep pools of the limestone streams. But for now, it’s still raining and I’m launching the ARK. So if you see a strange looking guy with a bunch of animals and muddy collies on a funny looking boat drifting along, feel free to make a picture and post it here.

March 18, 2008WATCH OUT FOR BIRDS!
Today was a normal tuesday night of taking my puppy, London, to training class. Butt something wierd was going to happen. I was in the car at a complete stop about to turn into a parking spot when all of a sudden a bird flew right into the side of my car. So by then i was really freaking out.I jumped out of my car trying to find the bird but it was no where. I'm still thinking about the pour thing. I really hope it was okay because I was going to take it to a vet or something. I really wonder if this has happened to someone else (while they were at a complete stop). It just made me feel bad for animals. We take up to much of there home. It seemes like were just pushing them out of the world. I think that would be the only way a dream like animal liberation will come true. Well I'm just thinking out loud now. But anyways i just wanted to let the world know to watch out for the birds, or any other animal for that matter while your driving... or in a car in generalle!

February 28, 2008Aviary
For multimedia developers and Web 2.0 users in general, check this out:
http://a.viary.com The front page is impressive. In addition to all the birds, can you see something else flying in the sky? This company is currently accepting beta testers for a variety of browser-based applications designed for tasks such as graphic design, audio editing, word processing, video editing, 3-D modeling and painting. I've been using the Phoenix Image Editor with the Camino browser and it works pretty well. It's free to apply. I think much of computing is headed this way in the future. J

February 3, 2008But skeleton you are my friend...
I like British pop music. I have random fleeting manic thoughts that are probably uncommon. I can't spell out loud. I'm scared of small hands. All my dreams are like "worst possible situations". And I the places I dream about I know I'll never make it to or get to go to again. We only have one life. I don't think I've made the most of mine..But all these are all right coz now I'm going to try to start over in a way. Just live. Breathe in breathe out and take each day as it comes. Even though its hard for me not to have regrets, I'm gonna try to get rid of them. Be a bit nicer to everyone, but not in a yucky sappy sugary way that makes you sick to your stomach everytime you talk to a person coz they're just too nice to everyone. Have more of a personality I guess. I want everything at once in a way, but in another way, I want it to take its time to get to me. I guess I'm just saying that I need to know whats going to happen for me... I'm going to try to start setting that up so I don't have to worry.
wow. I just totally said "I" about a million times. We all need to think about the other something billion of people in this world and realize that most of their problems are bigger than ours. Maybe that gives you a whole new outlook on life? Its kind of cliche to finally realize that and let it hit you, but it just happened here. Maybe its just Kate Nash and her british-ness music. (You should all give it a listen). Let it epiphinize(word? if not it should be) you too. Be inspired! and not like the shirts. Theres so much in this world to do, and see, and live for! Its time we all enjoyed it instead of worrying about ourselves. I'm still a bit materialistic, but hopefully not as self centered. We should all reduce that time we think about our problems. (Unless you're getting abused or raped nightly-in that case get help. and even though I WANT to write lmao after that I shouldn't coz that actually is reality for some people. I read about it in seventeen...haha) "you said I must eat so many lemons coz I am so bitter" (I dunno how to make the music notes) thats what I just heard. ramble on. i want to. but should stop. nothing is coming out of these words anymore. I don't expect this to change the world or anything. Just wanted to say it... its just about people in general. love y'alls who care enough to read this and comment on my brain working itself into words
