Ello Buzznet. i'm eyeballing a s'mores luna bar right now. hm, should i or shouldn't i? questions of life! haha.

anyways, i'm still in Barbados. it's kinda hot still but, i'm starting to get used to it. i think i'm going to wash my hair again. ugh, i hate washing my hair cause it never comes out verrrrry straight like how i like it. =/ i was thinking about when i was little &how i used to love walking around on my tipppyyyytoes. haha i was so strange. i miss being a little kid riding around in my grandmas toyota listening to B103 it's a radio station on Long Island that plays all these really old songs. my Gigi was always my best friend we spent a lot of time together during the Summer i spent most of my childhood w| her. she's really a big part of who i am today.

I've got to get myself together before school starts. no more bullshitting around i wanna makes my senior year an epic one. good grades, good friends, good looks &just fun! i think i'm going to make a few list i'm in the mood for that.

Hi there Buzznet :) Okay so I'm in barbados right now &it's my...3rd? day here. Hm, idk anymore haha. So anyways things are going okay. I've been walking on the beach nearly everyday, seeing family, bonding w| my parents &stuff. They have a lot of stuff from home here but, it's all really expensive. I'm having fun but, I'm kinda feeling weird so I just decided to just write some stuff down since I didn't bring a notebook or something grr. So idk I feel like this is the happiest I've been in a long time. But, it sucks cause in two weeks I'm coming back home to all the shit that made me sad, depressed &just feeling down. I need permanent change, I don't need just a vacation. Things have to be different &no one else is going to change them. I have to.

 

Well, I'm going to make a list later. I've got to get some breakfast in me byee xO

I recently received the most incredible news from my team. "Shontelle! You're not going to believe this, but you have just been confirmed to open for NKOTB for their European tour!" "OMG! Are you serious?" "Yes! Yes! This is gonna be so good for you, girl!" "Thank you, thank you, thank you guys! I'm so excited! Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh, the right stuff!" "Hahahahaha. Yes!" How cool is that news? Then, just as I thought things couldn't be better,

I got another call that confirmed a possibility we had been told of about a week ago. It had been finalized that I would be doing a Dianne Warren/Rodney Jerkins (DarkChild) record for the soundtrack of the upcoming and highly anticipated movie Confessions of a Shopaholic. Am I in heaven? Then it gets better! The song "Stuck with Each Other" also features Akon and will be a major song in the movie! I'm just so happy. I have wanted to work with Disney, Diane Warren, DarkChild AND Akon for sooooo long! And they have all been crossed off my checklist in one go! This is so great. I'm look really looking forward to all of this. Just days later, I arrived in Barbados, my beautiful home in the sun.

I was so happy to see my family. I missed them so much. I spent my days shopping for gifts with my family, catching up with my friends and bodyboarding, and chillin' on the beach. I missed my dogs so much so it was great to be able to feel their slobber all over me again. Ha! My best buddies. There is no love like a dog's love. Is that weird? Hahaha! I also hit up a few parties and went to a big fancy bash to celebrate NYE. I recorded "Stuck with Each Other" while I was in Barbados, too. See, the work never stops -- not even when you're supposed to be on vacation! Anyways, I was more than happy to do it.

Did I say how excited I am about this? My trip home was way too short because in no time I was back on a plane to NY, where I had one day to rest and pack to fly to L.A. to shoot the video for the new SHONKON song. We shot it at Lisa Rinna's store, Belle Gray. What a gorgeous store! I can't wait for you guys to see how the vid came out. I posted a video on my MySpace with some behind-the-scenes footage. There are also a bunch of photos from the shoot and more exclusive behind the scenes material on shontelleonline.com. We're so excited about Confessions of a Shopaholic and "Stuck with Each Other."

The Barbados Film Market - Film Finance Conference is organized by the Barbados International Film Festival (BIFF), with goals to set and maintain the lead as a major showcase for the exhibition of Latin America, Caribbean and Worldwide independent cinema.

The Department of Media Studies and Film of the New School in New York presents the 11th annual graduate student showcase this December 7. "Mixed Messages", an evening of student works selected by a panel of jurors, and emphasizing the Media Studies program's commitment to theory and practice encompassing all types of media. Reception follows. Boyle Heights Latina Independent Film Extravaganza is a Los Angeles event from December 7-9, featuring the creative work of Latina film directors from all across the country showing their creative work in front and behind the lens. Web Video Summit 2007 happening in New York, December 10-11, brings together the new pioneers of an expanding industry, discussing and demonstrating what you need to know about producing Internet video. David Poltrack of CBS Television and Garrick Utley of The Levin Institute preside over "FutureThink: The Media & Entertainment Industry 2008 and Beyond," taking place in New York on December 11. Women In Film and Television hold their Sixth Annual Jingle Mingle, with holiday networking and fun for Central Florida's media and entertainment professionals, December 12 in Maitland.

The Actors' Fund of America presents a December 13 gala benefit auction in New York, "Defining Elegance," showcasing glamorous evening gowns designed by award-winning costume designers using  Brunschwig & Fis fabrics, all to benefit The Actors Fund. The International Press Academy puts on their annual event, the 12th Annual Satellite Awards, December 16 in Beverly Hills, and Academy Award winning actress Kathy Bates will be recognized for her 35-year career in entertainment with the Mary Pickford Award. Aspen Film Academy Award Screenings offers a sneak peek at some of the films everyone will be talking about come the Academy Awards® when it runs December 21 through January 2 in Aspen. At a New Year's Eve Holiday Bash in Port St. Lucie, aside from traditional holiday party festivities of champagne, hors'dourves, and party hats, there will be an announcement of filmmakers chosen to be a part of the Treasure Coast International Film Festival opening February 1-3 in 2008.
