NEWS:

A new winner has been crowned Band of the Month - FOR THE FIGHT! They narrowly beat out In Shadows Embrace and Imagine Dragons to grab the deciding votes. Remember you can vote once a day EVERY day for the band you think deserves the right to be called Band of the Month. This month we have Gerbils v2.0, Leiana and The Marquees battling it out and the polls are open!

We have totally changed our layouts on our website and myspace, and invite you to check them out! If you are not a friend of ours please add us on Myspace.com/figgzillamusic and our band page on Myspace.com/figgzillamusiclive.

A few new bands have joined our social music community including SUBSTANCE, LEIANA, 2012, KNOCK-OUT and more. If your band has not signed up, its fast, easy, and FREE! If you already have a NING.com account, sign up is even easier.

Also joining were OUtlaw Entertainment and Double Down Radio Show! We encourage all promoters, venues, radio shows and more in the music business to sign up and promote yourselves to our network of bands, fans and more.

BANDS:

Rule of Thumb (hardcore/punk) - *JUST ADDED* ROT will be joining OTEP and BURY YOUR DEAD this April at Cheyenne Saloon. But first up Catch them with AGNOSTIC FRONT and DEATH BY STEREO also at the Cheyenne Saloon on January 19th. Then on February 12th they will share the stage with MOWER at the Premier. The band has tickets for both and can be reached at Myspace.com/lvruleofthumb for details on how to get yours!

Old Man Syndrome (hard rock) -  Get on the OMS guest list for thier show with ONE PIN SHORT and Saint Rose at the Blue Martini on January 24th. Contact Jeff through email to get on the list and go ahead and preorder thier upcoming album too, at omsyndrome@live.com or Myspace.com/oldmansyndrome.

Dizzylilacs (rock/indie) - Useless records gives you a free Dizzylilac show at Cranes Tavern in Hollywood. The following night, catch them ON THE ROX at the top of the Roxy also in California. The band travels to Las Vegas and Henderson at the end of the month with a special Acoustic Strip performance at the House of Blues Courtyard inside Mandalay Bay Casino. Control The Chaos (metal/thrash) -  Is going to release new music soon, and the band has signed up with TUNECORE to prepare. This will get the new album all over the net for you to download at outlets like iTunes. Check out the video for "Blackend Sunrise" now featured on FiggZillaMusic.com.

Editors - Escape the Nest
-------------------Once again, I'd like to thank the public library for letting me borrow a stack of CDs to feed the belly of my already morbidly obese laptop. Seriously, that place isn't just for encyclopedias, study sessions or wrapping up a 12-page term paper at three a.m. Plus, I get a nerdy kick out of the labels that indicate the band on the CD is a "Musical Group."

Among the dozen or so "Musical Groups" I selected was Editors An End Has A Start. Editors "Escape the Nest" is riddled with wailing guitar and rides a sweeping, dramatic creshendo. The lyrics sung by a slightly operatic Tom Smith fatnasize the triumph of an ant-sized love in the overwhelming and intimidating size of reality.

Neon Indian - Deadbeat Summer
--------------I know it's December, and the western hemisphere is afflicted with this thing we call winter that brings in catastrophically chilly temperatures that force me to bundle up in seven hoodies and 12 pairs of socks.

Maybe a little dramatic, I know, but nothing so dramatic as my enjoyment of Neon Indian. Alan Palomo, the brain behind the beats, produces a great medley of buzzes and snaps through what sounds like an eighties-vintage atmosphere. Take a little Depeche Mode and the quirkiness of Metric. Antiquated yet thoroughly modern, shall we say?

"Deadbeat Summer" sounds like something hipsters at Columbia would throw into their playlist of Vampire Weekend and keyboard heavy dub-step while they sip top-shelf liquor whatevers. There's a playful pop element to it, but a sophisticated chicness gives it a certifiable coolness. Get it from Psychic Chasms.

Hey everyone merry christmas!

What'd everyone get? I got a new mic! Its a Shure PG58 im so excited! I cant wait to get on stage with it and rock out.

Omg I have a new pic of Devin too so i'll post that for everyone! He'll probably be so mad lol

I can't stop thinking about the band! Im so excited I can't wait til we have this awesome fan base filled with kid just like us. Cuz we're all just fans at heart. We could get as big as Fall Out Boy and when I actually met them i'd prolly just pass out or get sick or something lol

Im working on some new songs, I think they'll be really good when they're finished! And Devin is going to teach me how to play the drums. Im gonna suck so bad! But thats ok cuz he's amazing at it and im just lead vocals so i don't have to be good. lol I should teach him how to sing! I've never actually heard him sing before, I wonder if he's tone deaf? Haha

Im gonna be taking some vocal lessons too. Just to make sure my voice is as perfect as i can make it for you guys!

Well I gotta go and play some guitar hero to brush up my guitar skillzz haha

In Las Vegas there is an all new ALL AGES venue! Area 702 Skate Park is kicking off with shows by In This Moment, The Vandals and more! They were originally scheduled at the Premier, but have sinced been moved over to the venue. We have the shows posted on our calendar, check it out now!

We have added new discussion topics recently in our FORUMS, and encourage you to post about bands, shows and cd releases to help our network of fans, bands and industry to see and hear new music! Dont forget you can also create GROUPS!

This year we will be celebrating our FIVE year anniversary! We plan on having a huge show to celebrate, and details will be coming out as we have them, expect the show later on in 2010.
