Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh (the creators of Phineas and Ferb) met while working as layout artists on The Simpsons. Soon after, they moved to Nickelodeon to work on Rocko's Modern Life. Together they created Phineas and Ferb and the show ended up on Disney after 16 years of pitching it to different channels.

when you were casting the show, did you know who you wanted as each role? or did you have a long list? auditions? etc.?
