Top 10 Cds or Eps of 2009

10. How To Call A Bluff - My Favorite Highway

Awesome band. Great live. My hometown heros. Super nice people. They really care about the fans and will have a long conversation with you even though there are tons of other girls who probobly don't know who they are crowding around them.

9. The Summer EP - Never Shout Never

Even though most of Christopher's fans are putting him down because he changed the name again along with his sound, I think this ep is one of his better ones. I like his music without all the weird techno crap or whatever you call it in the background. I loved him when the Yippe came out and I will forever love him. Can't wait for AP tour.

8. To Love And Back - This Century

One Word - Fantastic.

7. You Gotta Believe EP - The Rocket Summer

Musical Genius. This EP is so different than his old music, but it is a good cahnge. He's not a kid anymore and hasn't been for a while. He has stepped it up and delivered catchy music with beautiful lyrics. If you get the chance to see him live, go! He is fantastic.

6. Anywhere But Here - Mayday Parade

I listen to this cd almost every day. I love it and I personally belive that they are better with just Derek singing lead vocals. I feel like these songs are more mature and show how Derek felt at the time he was writing this.

5. Damn Rough Night EP - Artist Vs Poet

This Ep is great, Even better than their first. I picked it up on the Cheap Date Tour and since then it's been playing on repeat everyday. Sweet people who put on a sick show. Even though I missed two songs while waiting to get in the venue I sang along in the parking lot. I was afraid another John Ohhh incident was gonna happen since i flew to Ft. Lauderdale (thats where John from The Maine got semi arrested!) to see them and the security were yelling at them like they did John. Then I got hit in the head, but Craig comforted me. Scarry.

4.Cycles - Cartel

Wonderful! I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was since they hadn't put out a new cd for a while, but then again they were great on the mini All Time Low tour. We were the first people to here Let's Go live! For some reason my fave song is Deep South and thats usually the one people hate. Nice people who make beautiful music.

3. Nothing Personal - All Time Low

No I am not a new fan. I love this cd. I grew up near them and knew them since Put Up Or Shut Up. This cd shows their growth and how they have matured over the years. I think it is definately the most solid work they have made to date. I even like Too much. It was annoying at first, but it grew on me. They have even more respect from me than before because of this cd. Stop putting it down and really listen to it with an open mind. First stop on their mini tour -two days after Nothing Personal came out. They put on a great show, although my mom didn't like it since Jack is too dirty.

2. On Your Side - A Rocket To The Moon

Really different from the EP Greetings From... but I like it. The songs are beautifully written. i am especially glad at the last moment they added Like We Used To. that is my favorite song of the rocord. Totally worth then money and getting it the first day from the store. Although I hate Baby Blue Eyes, the rest of the cd makes up for it.

1. Love Like This - The Summer Set

No words for this cd. It is such a good cd. I like their new sound better than their two EPs. I don't care for Can You Find Me, but Where Are You Now? with vocals from Dia Frampton from Meg&Dia is possibly the best song they have ever made.

Feel free to let me know who you think should or shouldn't have made the cut. Oh and if it counts The Maine's This Is Real Life EP would be on there too, but i thought that wouldn't count since you only got it if you ordered This Is Real Life.

And if you don't know them already, check out the band Days Difference. They have played with All Time Low and The Plain White T's. I personally think they are a lot better live, but they are great guys so check them out.

DEFINATELY my absoloute favorite release of the year!

The Sounds are a rock band from sweden and are AMAZING.

you may know them from the geico commercial where they're song hurt you plays in the background.

I am very sad to see they haven't gotten any credit for this amazing album.

Seriiously after many years of major labelness and them seeeing people not as into the music as they were, they spent they're own money, bought a studio, and put this album out on they're own.

Music Addict: Winter 7 Essentials

Forget lame Christmas songs! You won't have to put up with your parents blasting their boring old Christmas album! My sister (Diehardroxx) and I compiled a list of winter/Christmas songs performed by bands you actually listen to on a daily basis!

So go and make a mix of these songs ASAP, and let the make songs know they're history! =)

A Rocket to the Moon-"Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"

A Rocket to the Moon put a twist on a classic Christmas song and made it their own. The recorded the song for ABC, and of course because it was made for TV, it's a little weird and sugary, but it's still a good song. The bells in the background make you get in the Christmas spirit! Nick Santino's vocals are a little rough and have a bit of attitude, making it an edgy Christmas song, if that's possible.

Brighten (feat. The Maine)-"Merry Christmas Baby"

"Merry Christmas Baby" is a short and sweet song. It's stripped down, letting front man Justin Richards' voice shine through. John O'Callaghan of The Maine's guest vocals really add to the song. They make it have a homey feel. The song's about loving someone and really wanting them to be by your side during the holidays.

The Academy Is...- "Winter Passing"

This single was released by The Academy Is... in late 2008. It's really bigger than life and beautifully composed. You really can't compare this sing to any other. William Beckett's lovely lyrics take the standpoint of a hopeless romantic having a hard time letting go of relationships past. It's a timeless song that really captures the essence of winter.

The Maine-"Ho Ho Hopefully"

Just by hearing the first few notes of the song, you'll know it's a song by The Maine. Its unbelievable how talented lead guitarist Jared Monaco is, and his ability to express himself through his guitar is admirable. The Maine's heartfelt and sincere lyrics inevitably tug at your heartstrings when they are sung by John O'Callaghan. Even though the song's plot is simply about missing someone during winter, it's not cheesy, and it's not your typical Christmas song. It's near-perfect, save for the female vocalist of Eisley who joins in at the end of the song, and I feel, ruins it.

The Maine-"Mr. Winter"

The Maine never fails to surprise me. Both the original and acoustic versions of this song are mid-blowing, and special in their own right. This song is upbeat, poppy, and catchy; so well-written and performed that it can be listened to all year round.

This Century-"Kiss Me Like It's Christmas"

"Kiss Me Like It's Christmas" is a PWN'N This Century song. Despite it being a Xmas song, TC don't lose themselves in the season. They never abandon the original TC attitude or loud, fast-paced drumming by Ryan Gose. Even if it has a nostalgic feel to it, the song is really happy. It has an old-fashioned basement-sound to it, making it sound unique.

We The Kings (feat. Martin Johnson) -"There Is A Light"

"There is a Light" is a sad yet hopeful song about Christmas Eve. Travis Clark's vocals are complemented by Boys Like Girls' Martin Johnson. It's a simple yet beautiful Christmas song.

My Top 10 Fav Albums of 2009!!

2009 was the best but also the worst. MJ dying was a terrible loss and Brittany Murphy was pretty sad too. I am probably gunna miss DJ AM a lot cause he was a rly good DJ who mixed hip  hop and rock so well. </3 So yeah I dedicate my love to these 3 people who did what they love for the fans. :) Anyways, on a happier note here is all the albums from 2009 that I really enjoyed.

10. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
The songs are pretty good, I am basically addicted to Bad Romance so yeah...I might have to enjoy that for awhile xP

9. Paramore - Brand New Eyes
I wasn't disappointed, it was just more of loss of interest. I mean I enjoyed the album but sometimes I wonder why I got it? Anyways, no offense to any fans out there its just my opinion. My favorite songs wuld have to be: All I Wanted, Brick by Boring Brick, Ignorance, and Careful.

8. Owl City - Ocean Eyes
I loved this album it was really really awesome! Adam never seizes to amaze me :) His sound is really original and very easy to enjoy. My fav songs are : Vanilla Twilight, Hello Seattle, and Fireflies. Adam I <3 ya!

7. Justin Bieber - My World
Okay I gotta say this and its gunna kill me but I like Justin Bieber. His songs are...idk they are really cool I guess? I really enjoy One Time, One Less Lonely Girl, and Common Denominator. Now everytime in math I just think about that song lol.

6. This Providence - Who Are You Now?
This Providence are really good and this was probably one of my top played albums EVER on my ipod. Other than All Time Low or The Maine this is definitly one I enjoy a lot :)

5. All Time Low - Nothing Personal
People say that this album was probably disasppointing? But seriously? When I got it for my bday that was all I kept listening to! Some songs like Stella and Too Much weren't really going for me but songs like Weightless, Break Your Little Heart, and Lost in Stereo were my FAVORITES! They are basically saying you are slut, nothing personal. I really enjoy how they make their songs sound funny, All Time Low is probably one of the best bands EVER!

4. Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux (Even if it isn't 2009 it still counts! Cause i luv it!)
FOB is so frickin awesome! They never stop being awesome! Even if Pete Wentz did cut his hair I still love them! My favorite songs from this album is : America's Suitehearts, I Dont Care, She's My Winona, and What a Catch Donnie. <3

3. Friday Night Boys - Off the Deep End
Friday Night Boys is totally my favorite band. They're music is just music you can listen to when you are in the mood. Say you're a guy who is head over heels for this girl you could listen to 'She's Finding Me Out' FNB are really cool. My Fav song for the moment is Stuttering cause its just so party mood and very crush story book kind of song.

2. Flyleaf - Momento Mori
Flyleaf is very inspirational to me ever since I first heard All Around Me I have been addicted to them :) This album I was very stoked for I mean I was like literally counting down to it. Momento Mori is really really great to listen to! Flyleaf's self titled album was a bit more out there and less moody. Momento Mori is more dark and I really enjoy it. My fav songs wuld have to be....Again, The Kind, Swept Away, Tiny Heart, and Beautiful Bride. If you havent heard this album or listened to any of their new songs you better do it before I cut you! LoL i am kidding!

The moment you have all been waiting for....the top album is...

1. A Rocket to the Moon - On Your Side
ARTTM's new album is the best ever! I have been addicted ever since I got it! Nick Santino is a really great singer and his voice is just so good! The sound is very coffeeshop and very calm. I could listen to it all day without anything really blasting. Mr. Right is probably the best song on the album cause its my top played on my ipod! My other favs are :Where Did You Go?, She's Killing Me, Like We Used to, and On Your Side. This album is really great, check it out! :D

Okay now that you  heard all my picks. You tell me yours! In the comments leave ur top 10 :D

December 14, 2009

wow.

see that right there. that is the single best concert i *could have* gone to in awhile. the line up is beautiful. i was gonna go with like 10 amazing people. unfortuanately, the universe has made it its life goal to keep me out of hartford this saturday.

let me start at the begining. two weeks ago i heard about this and was beyond excited. i showd some friends, and we were all set to buy the tickets, until my mom told me our christmas party was on that day. ok. no big deal. i convinced her to let me skip.

crisis averted. so again, we're all set, i have a ride, my friends are all set, when i get a call. we have a track meet that day.

let me let you in on a little secret. i am not a runner. i do this soley to keep in shape for lacrosse. so yeah, the meet is meaningless. but they said itd start around 8 in the morning, and wrap up around three. no big deal. i could leave early, get to the concert late, whatever.

so again, all set to go, when i get yet another call. my ride has to babysit, cant get out of it. at this point i have put too much energy into this to not go, so i found another ride.

now imagine me, all excited that its all set, thinking about it all today (math can wait, i have bigger things to think about), walking onto the track only to hear that the track meet has been postponed... to three o'clock. no chance i an get out of this one.

so this saturday, instead of standing in a smelly venue with dozens of my favorite bands playing, i will be running circles in a smelly gym until TEN O'CLOCK AT NIGHT. they have sucessfully killed an entire saturday for me.

so that brought my day down a notch. but that wasnt all of it. in a nutshell, today i:

-woke up to find that i only had one contact becuase i was so tired last night, i missed the case and it dried out on th counter.

-was informed that there are rumors all time low did a duet with demi lavato... umm, WHAT?

-i got home from track to find that my moisterizer had exploded all over my dresser, books, camera, everything. wonderful.

-and im pretty sure my ipod is busted.

baically at this point i need a vacation soo bad. christmas couldnt come sooner...

oh and happy birthday alex gaskarth. hope your day was better than mine

Next Photos Probably are coming From...

the 2010 Take Action! Tour featuring A Rocket To The Moon, There For Tomorrow, We The Kings, Mayday Parade, and Stereo Skyline.

I saw We The Kings on tour during GK and they were really good live, they're just not my favorite band. I hope I can squeeze in a couple more concerts and hopefully I can get a photo pass so I don't have to do it in front of a mosh pit again.
