Chapter 3 Enter At Your Own Risk

Chapter 3 Enter At Your Own Risk

They approached Cass's apartment and just as Cassandra reached for the door Jussi jerked it open and smiled shyly at them. He stepped aside letting them enter the room his eyes gazed at Amy as she walked past him, she just looked at him and quickly down at her feet. Who is this freak and why is he staring at me she thought to herself. They walked into the livingroom and it was full of people it seemed like. Amy's eyes wandered around the room looking at each person briefly as she smiled shyly.

Cass placed her arm around her sisters shoulder and looked at the room full of people

"Everyone this is my little sister Amy, she is gonna be staying here with me in London for however long and I would like if you guys made her feel welcome." Cass announced to the room of people.

Then Cass started pointing people out and introducing them to Amy.

"Amy this is Ville, he's a musician friend of mine" Cass said as Amy smiled shyly at Ville and he just smirked at her with a sexy grin.

"That is Timo, Blazie, and Archie sitting over there on the couch." Cass pointed out

"hello ..." Amy said in her sweet american accent, Jussi looked over at her when she spoke.

"And that weirdo over there is Jussi, he's harmless he just looks scary." Cass teased him with a loving smile

Amy looked at him and then quickly looked away as a loud crashing noise came from the guest room.

"What the hell ... " Cass said

Just as she spoke 3 men came running into the living room laughing histerically

"What the fuck did you break Eicca?" Cass blurted out

Eicca stopped laughing only to start back as soon as Laury came walking into the livingroom covered head to toe in shaving cream. Amy started giggling at what she saw and that caught Laury's attention.

"You think this is funny?" he questioned her ... looking at her with a devious manner.

"You are covered in shaving cream"  she said softly as she backed away from him as he came towards her.

Just them he launched himself at her hugging her tightly and smearing shaving cream all over her with what was on his body. Amy screamed with laughter as the room started laughing aswell. Laury let her go and backed away from her, and looked her up and down.

"So who are you?" he asked

"Laury this is my little sister Amy, she's from the states." Cass mentioned.

"Amy this is Laury, Eicca, Mikko, and Perttu" Cass said as she introduced them to Amy.

New Story Concept (People Needed)

I have a new story concept that I've toyed with based off a movie I have seen called "The catacombs". What I need is some people to add to the story ... I need 2 females that can play sisters ... I need names, styles (clothes and hair), college profile (courses of study).  I need the younger sister to be alittle naive but still knowledgable. So guys think about this one and get back to me ... The rockstars of this one is gonna be The 69Eyes, Apocalyptica, and Ville - HIM. If you have any ideas please submit them here.

Ozzfest 2008

So on Saturday I packed up the car with me, my dad, and my daugther and we headed to Ozzfest, we were like the Clampets except more metal :)  Got to Pizza Hut park around 11 ish, missed the first two bands which were the winner and runner up of the Garage to Ozz contest, and I can't for the life of me find out who it was that won....anywhoooo....

The first band that we checked out was The Destro, they were playing on The Texas (Third) Stage.  We, being my dad and I, both decided that they were pretty good!  Had a great time listening to them, DEF would be interested in hearing more.

The next band that we checked out was Witchcraft...it wasn't that they were bad, they just kind of seemed out of place for an Ozzfest type event.  I felt bad for them, because basically as soon as they started playing people just left in droves.  We stayed for most of their set, but at one point my dad had left to go find us some water, I don't know if you heard but apparently Texas is hot as hell during August, my dad came running back to wear me and my daugther were standing to tell me that In This Moment had already started on the mainstage.  So we made like trees and leaved :D

I LOVE In This Moment!!! I first heard of them last year at Ozzfest and have had two more opportunities, not including this Ozzfest to see them!  They are great and I hope that they get huge at some point in their careers.  This particular day probably wasn't thier best, the had sound problems, but I still really enjoyed.  They sang mostly stuff off their first album but threw in at least one new song that I could tell from a CD that they are getting ready to come out with!  Good good stuff!!!

Next came probably one of the biggest highlights of my day, Apocalyptica!  I SERIOUSLY enjoyed these guys.  I like to see people do something different and the way these guys wailed on fucking cellos was INSANE!!!  I had heard of these guys before, but never really paid much attention, they DEF have my attention now though.  The only songs that I can absolutely say for sure that they played (I was running around trying to find the illusive FYE tent to get Maria Brinks autograph, while simultaneousy watching these guys K? :D) were "I'm Not Jesus" (I did some checking and Corey Taylor didn't sing, he was probably in Detroit with the rest of Mayhem) and they did a cover of Metallica's "Seek and Destroy" which was friggin amazing!!!

Next was Shadows Fall, we were settling in after travelling around the stadium trying to find that damn tent, when these guys came on.  We were sweating our asses off, it was almost unbearable the heat that day, but were still having fun.  I was enjoying Shadows Fall's set quite a bit, when I realized that Drowning Pool was getting ready to come on, on the Texas Stage.  That was one of the deals, I got to see In This Moment and he wanted to see Drowning Pool.  So we headed over.  They were awesome!  Sang all the good stuff: Bodies, Step Up, 37 Stitches, Soldier, and Tear Away, among others, not in that order.  You KNOW that they killed it since they are from Dallas, and we were in Dallas (OK actually Frisco, but close enough).  It was a pretty good set.

UNFORTUNATELY!  By the time that Drowning Pool was over and we could head over to the mainstage Cavalera Conspiracy was well into their set.  I was SERIOUSLY dissapointed as they were one of the top bands that I wanted to check out.  But I did enjoy the show they put on.  Just wish I could've seen more.

Next came, probably, the BIGGEST mistake that we made for Ozzfest.  For some reaons, unbeknownst to me at this time, after some discussion, my father and I both decided that we would stay and watch Jonathan Davis's set instead of bothering to go over to the second stage to see Sevendust.  We are both STILL kicking ourselves for that.  It isn't that Jonathan Davis was "bad" but his solo stuff would be more suited for a small venue until he can kind of refine his act.  I also don't really think that it was "Ozzfest" type music he was playing.  The other thing that bothered me was that every song that he sang seemed to come off the Queen Of The Damned soundtrack....NOT that there is anything wrong with that, but I was like... DUDE!  You got anything original you would like to share with us?!?!?!  I've read a bunch of hateful reviews about his set, and I just have to say that I don't agree with all of that.  He was still entertaining to watch, he was still Jonathan Davis.  I think that most of those people that were hating on him probably don't care much for Korn either, and I do.  So that might be the difference.

Hell Yeah was next.  Now all the other reviews that I have read kind of blasted this set too.  I'm inclined to go with the majority on this one.  It wasn't a "horrible" set, but not great.  The only songs of theirs that I recognized would be "Alcohaulin' Ass", "Hell Yeah", and "Waging War".  Other than that not much more to talk about.

ON TO THE DIMEBAG TRIBUTE!!!  I was really excited to be apart of this!  Ever since they mentioned that this would be apart of the show, I thought "This is going to be awesome"...Well...It was good...I wouldn't go so far as to say it was "Awesome" though.  The tribute consisted of a shit load of noteables taking the stage and some Pantera songs while clips of Dime Bag played on the two big screens.  The songs they played were "Mouth For War", "New Level" and another song I'm not familiar with.  There is nothing wrong with the songs that they chose to play, they are good songs, I'm just suprised that they chose those particular ones.  The acoustic version that they did of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" was kinda bad actually, I hate to say that, Pearl Aday was up on stage, with Scott Ian, Mike Inez, Jerry Cantrell and Lars Ulrich (I think that was it), and her harmony was a little off and she overpowered the melody, it left me with one of those uncomfortable "I'm embarrassd for you" kinda feelings.  But despite that, it was pretty moving, because the song is a good one, along with the video clips of Dime Bag, it almost made up for that girl trying to ruin it!

Next was Serj, THIS is where me and my dad's opinion starts to differ a little bit.  My dad did not enjoy his set at all.  I on the other hand got pretty much exactly what I was expecting.  Serj's songs were sang in his quirky manner with his uber political undercurrent.  It was Serj to the bone.  My dad did say that he wasn't real familiar with SOAD's stuff so maybe that is why he wasn't digging on it so much?  I don't know.  I do have to say that along with Jonathan Davis, I don't think this particular event was a good place for him to get any kind of love.  Some assholes behind me kept screaming "METALLICA" during his set, it was pretty irritating.  That is when I discovered that fan girls and metal heads, more on that to come!

After Serj was the moment that most of the people in the venue where waiting for!  The prince of darkness Ozzy Osbourne!  At 59, this man still makes grown men go insane!  It is awesome to watch.  He took the stage and the place went wild.  The first song that he sang was "I Don't Wanna Stop".  Other songs that he sang were Iron Man (Can I getta I AM IRON MAN!!! :D), No More Tears, Road To Nowhere (GOD I LOVE THAT SONG), Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, Bark At The Moon, Moma, I'm Coming Home, War Pigs and thats all that I can remember.  During the middle of his set Mr. Wylde did the sickest solo ever, he did the same thing last year when I went to Ozzfest so I was kind of expecting it this year, with him ending on the National Anthem (Not Jimi Hendrix good, but good enough to give me some damn goosebumps!!!) ALOT of people were bitching about the length of the solo, I don't see what the big deal was!  It was good, it was entertaining, and it OBVIOUSLY serves a purpose, TO GIVE OZZY A BREAK!!!  The man is old, and has done a lot of drugs K?  (He's not actually that old, but he's done A TON OF DRUGS!!!) and I'm sure his stamina is pretty much nonexistant at this point.  So if Zakk Wylde wants to show us his goods so Ozzy can take a breather that's FINE BY ME!!!....And scene

So Ozzy kept cracking me up because towards the end of his set he would say, "OK!!!  This is the last song" then he would play the song and after the song he would be like "If you guys go REALLY FUCKING CRAZY, we'll do another song!!!"  Of course the crowd would cheer and then he would be like "OK!!!  This is the last song!"  and this process repeated itself like 1304 times.  I looked at my dad and said "He's doing like NINE ENCORES!!!"  LOL!!!  IT was funny though.  After Ozzy was done and they started preparing the set or Metallica there were FIREWORKS!!!  No kidding!!!  They didn't last for a super long time, but it was a nice way to keep the crowd entertained for a bit.

Last but not least Metallica took the stage!  I need to be completely honest here, I was interested in seeing Metallica but I would, by no means, consider myself a fan of the band.  There are several of their songs that I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE, but the whole Napster thing left a band taste in my mouth and I just automatically think "Crybabies" when I hear their name.  BUT I was still interested in seeing what kind of show they put on!

I'm pleased to say that if I "hated" them before seeing them, I don't "hate" them nearly as much now.  Those guys put on a helluva show.  They blew me outta the water, that's pretty much all I can say.  They played every song that I wanted them to play with the exception of two.  The version they did of "One" about made me cry it was so friggin beautiful.  "Enter Sandman" was great, and DAMN that song brings back so many memories.  The other songs that I can remember them singing were Seek and Destroy, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Battery, Sanitarium, And Justice For All, And Nothing Else Matters, Sad But True, Unforgiven, that's all that I can remember, they played for like 2 hours or something!  But it was a good set.  They broke out a new song off their new album it was called "Cyanide" I have no official opinion of that song, I would need to hear it again.  By the time Metallica came out I was burnt, sweating and tired, so I wasn't trying to hard to pay attention to that song.

The one part of their set that I didn't care for was the encore, they played "12 Minutes of Satan" and they had this guy come out, King Diamond, I have NO IDEA who he was, and I don't care, he creeped me out and added absolutely nothing to the show and that is when we left.

The part of their set that I loved was their actual set, they had this huge screen and cameras were on every member of the band and the one that was on Lars was awesome because it would vibrate with him drumming LOL!!!  I just liked it, but the huge screens made it possible for all us suckers in the cheap seats to have a good view of what was going on on the stage.

So that is pretty much it for my Ozzfest experience, sorry it's so long, a lot of stuff was going on :)  The only other thing that I was going to talk about was how there have been nothing but scathing reviews of alot of the shit that went on on Saturday.  I was flabbergasted, I had such a great time and there are all these people just blasting it.  When I say that some metal heads are just like some fan girls I mean it.  They are so opinionated, one sided and irrational, that nothing will change their mind, they will be unhappy with the line up no matter what, and they won't give people like Jonathan Davis a chance because "He's not metal enough" Just make me want to cut someone!  Okay I'm done!!!

"I'm feeling glad I've got sunshine in a bag" =D

Today is one of the best days of my life since... the last gorgeous day!
About 2 hours ago I got to know that I can possibly be on an Apocalyptica concert!!!!!!
In just 8 days from today!!!!! I am so hyper about it, cause I really like them/their music. Apart from that, their concert was previously scheduled a couple of days after I set off to my uncle, to Canada, so I was A BIT frustrated. But now... the world is gone, I'm just one in a totally positive meaning!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for being so hyper... I just want to go SO much I hardly can stand it.

There's also another "musical" thing I'd like to tell you about.
Yesterday I was in one of Cracovian "New Yorkers" (I hope you know what I'm talking about o.O). It's totally messed up, the clothes are everywhere and you can spend a couple of hours just looking for a proper seize. But ok, I don't mind that much. Apart from the fact that the clothes get dirty EASILY. Furthermore, the seizes they use are odd. I was looking for a nice swimming suit. I found one, looked for the label saying: "EU 36", found one, tried it on and..... it was WAY too big for me o.O I don't understand it... Finally I bought the smallest I could find "EU 30-32". That's TOTALLY insane, cause I am sure, that I should have 36. Anyway, I can stand it as well. But what I wanted to write most is something about music which is played. It is:
- too loud
- too creepy
- way too loud
- way too creepy
- really, believe me, it's shit (sorry for not a beautiful word), not music
Why do I think so? While I was trying on the swimsuit I heard the sound I knew.... The beginning of one nice song.... I thought "Do they play Marilyn Manson for realz, or am I dreaming??!!!"
Unfortunately I was dreaming, because it was MM's cover. His song was tured into a new wave disco, or however you want to call it.

I know you might like such music, I'm sorry if what I wrote offended you. I just wanted to say that I understand covers. But I can't stand making shit out of a really nice song. I am not a fan of Marilyn Manson, but I like a couple of his songs (yes, even despite his appearance... or spite... ^^').

Oh, and by the way, have you ever thought of turing the old, good grunge into jazz? Nope? Well... it might be quite nice:) I've recently heard Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit in a pretty cool jazz version^^
Yea, I prefer Kurt, of course =D

I'm sorry if you wasted your time on reading this... I just felt like writing something =]

Peace out!

Message by Perttu Kivilaakso

Apocalyptica wants to thank with big and warm heart all the amazing people
we saw(and heard!!!) in our shows in the beginning of this month!
It was really amazing to be in all these wild and crazy countries, lots of
fun,sweat and "tears of joy".
and it was very interesting to visit new places, all these cities in Turkey
we never went before,Macedonia,Beirut etc...was so great to visit countries
we've already been and see the people SO happy that we came back and
everyone had SO much fun!!!
We were so happy to see that there's such a huge amount of enthusiasm in
these areas.Whole south-east Europe touched our inner selves(and skins as
well)
except that i'm still a bit like an albino.child of the shadows.
(and this kind of tour-diarhea sounds SO stupid since every concert and all
the people and audiences are SO great and wonderfully lovely and beautifull
that i don't find out now any better way to describe the trip)it was all SO
GREAT!!!
well,yeah..haha..some funny things happened..some that were not so funny.and
even some that are horrible, but overall i think the whole tour was a
wonderful experience for us all.and it seemed that the audience felt pretty
much the same.making memorable sweat together...
so...

funny things: we had fun.

haha

funny parties

haha

great shows!!!

lots of nudity

haha

things that were not so funny:

injuries

autch

quite much happened concerning physical health...
the regular pain is natural and normal for us and we like(love)it.

but now there was some more serious stuff, for example eicca got a bad sprain
to a muscle in his back.and he was not able to move his body for many
days.also one of his fingers got a bad flu

Mikko had bad problems with his arms(which is not very surprising because he
is like a monkey that hits the snare drum louder than any other!!!) but
still, not nice.not at all.otherwise mikko is a very nice guy

Paavo had some cramps all over his body(hmm...???)
...and that is nice thing for us because then we have to massage his
well-trained-body...eh,öh...??????!!!!!!

Antero had little bit hot sometimes under his performing suite.

and i had,well...too many injuries to write down in here(that's not
surprising either.all who knows a bit what kind of a person i am,can easily
imagine that whatever can happen to me,and i mean,Whatever!,.... .)

a bit of summer flu,fever,panic attacs,solid stomachs,sunburns,one mosquito
bite,almost broken rib,2 pairs of ruptured knees.one loosen nail,3
hangovers, many sleepless nights, sea sickness, one moment of fear of the
dark,a fart that we never can forget,

couple of serious controversies about for example what should we eat / what
songs we should play / who will go to the shower first/ should someone go
into the shower for a benefit of whole group / do we all want to watch the
same movie/ do we all want to watch something at all/ is this beer better
than some other/ who the hell ate again all the gummy candies!!(always a big
tragedy) /what country will win the football thing / is Dracula a real
person / why is the microwave not working / who the hell drunk all the
coffee milk / where is the toilet / who will go into the toilet
first(hilfe,hilfe..i'm coming!...ööö...hups) / why is my cello not working /
where is my cello / did anyone see it / does anyone even care / someone has
good temperature in the bed while some other is freezing or melting,so who
is right? and who likes to sleep beside some other.

thing that was horrible:
afterwards it already feels like a distant memory, can already even laugh
about it,but just a bit...

Kullervo's travels in the land of the Lilliputts:

lost in somewhere in the middle of nothing.
after a show in Kavarna(Bulgaria),we had a parties by the Black Sea,great
food etc.
i wanted to go to swim into the sea,but then i hurt my butt into one iron
spike that was standing on the beach.and that was painful.i mean.PAINFUL!!!
after visiting disco and all having nice fun, others dancing and me holding
my ass,we then went to bus,had to leave towards Sofia.
well,yeah..
i was already in my bed.totally tired, ready to sleep when the bus stopped.i
realized that it's the last chance to give one more shower to mother earth
and we all went out the bus to do,well, you know...
so..
hmm..
eh...
ärh..
i had a longer alert than others.so i continued peeing from my,well,you
know...

and the bus continued it's travel.
and f**king hell.WITHOUT ME!!!
first i thought that this must be a very bad joke.then i saw that the bus
had not any intensions to stop.
i tried to run after a bit but my butt...
so,then the lights of the vehicle disappeared.
and..
there..
was..
dark..
and very silent.
wherever i watched,as far as human eyes can see..
there was not a single light.no houses.no lamps..nothing
only endless fields.

well..
i had no mobile phone...(ofcourse,straight from bed)
i had no money...(ofcourse,straight from bed)
no credit cards,no passport,
no jacket
no shoes.and it was not too warm night, and a bit rainy...

i couldn't believe that this had just happened to me..
it felt awful(impossible to describe, but it felt awful!)
i knew that we'd already driven far from previous village..and had no idea
what's ahead...
wuh..
i just had to walk.trying not to fall asleep since i was very very tired.
there were no cars,not a single one,no lights,no birds,only a sign that
Sofia,approximately 500
kilometers...
it went awful
i walked there, can't really remember how long or how much.
well...one can imagine how it feels to walk for a long in a chippy asfalt
road without shoes.not nice.
after a while i then saw a sign of an airport and followed that until i
finally reached it.
it must have had looked weird when someone appears into the gates, with no
clothes,no shoes,no passport to show,no identity,totally wet,looking like a
drunk and narc.
i still wonder that i didn't found myself from a jail.
but that was a reason of a one very very friendly policeman who took me
inside the building.
it was the airport of Varna, the next town.
so,then we began to wonder that what the hell is the situation, who the hell
am i,and is this the sequel for the very succesful Tom Hanks movie.

there came lots of people from airport stuff to look at me.it must have had
look funny when someone's there talking and making "body language"-(because
it was a bit difficult to speak english in the beginning and this story is
more funny with this little extra)-movements of like"me-tarzan...rockband-
bus-peeing from down here...-in the field-bus,flying away-me,continuing
peeing... bus is gone...me alone-dark-scary..walking many
kilometers..me,happy that i found you(and then he hugs the saviors of he's
and they are shocked because this filthy animal touched them..but after we
found the common sound, everyone already loved each others and i was accepted
back into the clan of humans...

but oh gosh.
these people were so friendly!!!can't describe it..seriously! i've never
imagined that in this world could be so friendly and helpfull strangers that
what these people were..ofcourse i didn't remember anyones
phonenumbers..it was really early in the morning,i couldn't go into the
internet since it was on the other side where i couldn't naturally go
without the passport.
so,there was one guy who ran there and back for looking the addresses i gave
to him..
but we didn't find any mobile numbers...
i asked could i buy a helicopter somewhere(well,this is a full joke,but it
make's the story more colourfull) but they had none in the city.
back into the real life: i only could tell them that where our previous
concert was, then they found out who organized the gig,and i don't know for
how many different places they called, but finally someone answered and we
got an information that someone's coming to drive me to Sofia(after
uncertain hours, i couldn't know if i'm ever going to make it into Sofia
before nightfall)

best in this all is that nobody ever i the bus realized that i was left
behind.
until in the morning when these people from promoter-side began to bomb our
manager's phone.
and eicca answered and promoter people asked that do you know where perttu
is...they looked everywhere and were amazed..YES...TRULY!!!Where is
Perttu!!!
(i don't know how many heartattacks that caused in the bus.but luckily i was
already safe.)

so,meanwhile,me-Tarzan(didn't find any Jane's :( already had fun with
these UNBELIEVABLY LOVELY AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE
AAAAARRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they were waiting for me long after their working hours ended.even they had
been awake whole night, same as i...they just wanted to make sure that i will
get the car and all's fine...
such an incredible kindness.
(i will put the pictures of all these my new friends somewhere here into our
website)....i think in these pictures i'm not looking as "ok" as
normally..HAHA!!
finally the car arrived and this lovely police man gave me even he's shoes
to me,that i could walk(because my legs and heels were totally destroyed.)

i will not forget this greatest favour that i've ever got...THANK
YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *sniff*

so,then we drove to Sofia....bumpy road...damaged ass...seven hours...i was
very happy.actually felt like that i'm ready to KILL!!!

arriving in Sofia little bit before the showtime(except that the arena was
not even builded at that time so i got at least few hours to sleep.i didn't
want to see anyone except our tourmanager Uli who helped me after that.but
still prepared to show as normally as i ever could, trying not to collapse
totally.
so,i saw others first time on stage.after all this shit my cello was not
even working in the beginning but i decided that even there would come not a
single sound at all from my sound,i will help the band to make again a
furious show.
furious..yes..
my ass was truly on fire..and legs,everything..but it was still amazing show
and afterwards i collapsed.
it was amazing feeling when all this horror from the
night, shock, stress, tiredness etc exploded at the same time.
but then..

happy end.
this boy is still alive.
i spoke with others, was not even angry forr anyone, since i knew that they
must have had already bad feeling enough concerning this "mistake"...so,what
can you say...?

Shit happens?
or not...
(my ass didn't work for many...many days...ups...)
