Oneonta---The ReCap. aka: "Why I got home at 4am on Sunday Morning"

ok. So here's what happened now that I'm not stuck on my sidekick:

We got to Oneonta at 11:30pm. I was actually very excited to be there. Tired, but excited. Kim, Andrea, and Lindsey came over to see me and Paige at like midnight. Stayed for 10 minutes and left to go to the bar. We went to bed.
The next morning we got up, ate free breakfast in the hotel dining room, and went to get ready. Met a buncha the girls at The Netptune (a diner) where I had a cup of tea. I got to meet my "little little" and Kim's "little little"...they were both really sweet girls and no lie two of the only people I actually enjoyed spending time with that were active sisters. And I had just met them.
After The Neptune Paige and I headed up to campus to see if we could find any random CUAC'rs wandering around since it was Open House but apparently we missed the end of it. I stuck a post-it note on the computer that said "HI! Love Bridget" so hopefully no newbie eboarders or Late Night people take it down before my friends see it. They have a picture of last year's eboard hanging up on the wall.
I miss those days and those people so much sometimes it hurts.
After snooping through my old office we went downstairs to the school store and met up with Maura, Amanda, and Rachel, whom we spent the rest of the afternoon with.
Now here's the thing: Maura, Rachel, Amanda, & Lindsey all live in either Manhattan, Queen,s or Long Island. We didn't need to spend 200 bucks on a hotel and drive 4 hours to hang out with them.
And I feel like that's what we did...because I just felt like none of the active sisters could give a flying fuck that we were there. The only people who really seemed excited to see me were: Ashley & Teresa. The two girls I met at the diner. for the first time. ever.
BBQ @ Carrie's. Carrie was my FPS (Favorite Pledge Sister) during the pledge process. As such I will love her forever, but even she didn't seem that excited to see me. It's like I left and I lost friendships with these people that aren't supposed to go away no matter what. We're supposed to be sisters.
After the BBQ which was a slightly painful experience we went back to the Clarion and hung out in the other girls hotel room (we were staying at the Holiday Inn) for a little while before we went to the SMall (Southside Mall...its ittttty bitty. pronounced "small"). I got 2 sweet pairs of slip on sneakers from payless that are adorable as all get out, some new socks (yay socks!--i'm weird) and then we went to Applebee's for dinner where we had to put up with more BS.
We went from having dinner plans with 8 people (us + 3) to 18...which turned into 20. So Maura, Rachel, Me, Paige, Lindsey, Emily, and Christopher (Em is alumni and Chris is her boyfriend) at one table on one side of the restaurant and everyone else over on the other side.
Everyone (cept us) were pissed. but as Rachel said "I'm not pissing the staff off and getting my food spit in. they can sit us wherever they have room. We showed up with 18 people"
While at Applebee's we heard about a massive snow system that was going to start at 2am on the mountain. So Paige and I were like "uhhh...." 'cause we didn't want to spend today sitting in 9 hours of traffic/snow.
We told the active sisters we might leave...and they were like "oh...ok. well..yea. see ya"
And at that moment all I could do was look at my watch and say "Its 6:30...I could be in Philly right now listening to Chris Gutierrez speak at Starbucks with Callan.
So needless to say I was pretty gung ho about being ok with leaving. But I didn't show it and told Paige it was entirely up to her as she was driving. If it was up to me I woulda peaced out hours before that and been on my way to PA. But Paige was having fun...only she was having fun with the other Alumni. People we could see at home for way cheaper.
So we decided we were leaving, we hung out at the Clarion for a little while while we made this decision and then we went to walmart to stock up on goodies, went to the Holiday Inn to get our stuff and check out, and then to head to the bar at 11 so that we could say goodbye's to everyone.
Again...no one cared. In fact I'm pretty sure they were talking shit. You see Paige and I were never the sisters to worship the sorority. To us CUAC/RA stuff was always more important. They don't like that.
We got on the road (after a stop at Dunkin Donuts) at midnight and it seemed like we blinked and we were home by 4am.
I of course having been cut off from my internet for 2 days (the sidekick didn't really count---in fact I saw that Pete updated his journal yesterday and it made me really twitchy that I couldn't get to a computer) so I went online (instead of just pouring myself into bed) to do some "catch-up".
-Addicts for Dramatics *squee!*
-OCK Board...apparently people died yesterday (execpt for the journal thread) as it hadn't barely moved since I left on Friday.
-Buzznet. Nothing, cept Cal had some new pics.
next thing I knew it was 7am and I was like 'shitttt...sleep now' And then Mom woke me up at 1 so I would be able to go to sleep at a decent hour before work tomorrow.
And now she's dragging me to see The Reaping. Which is cool. I wanna see it. Just not on a pouring rain Sunday afternoon when I'm sure everyone will be there. Although 4:50pm on a Sunday people might not be. *shrug*
And that is that.
