Broken Fingers Show Us Those Guilty

There was a rabbit,
he was tall,
his grin was creepy,
lopsided and twisted,
his eyes were large,
bulbus and knowing,
he could search your soul.

She could only see the darkness in people,
she pointed her broken finger,
she knew he would obey,
she told him one word.

Kill.

Murder.

Die.

He followed the orders,
he crept from behind,
he destroyed,
he was charged.

She watched the trial,
she laughed in their presence,
she told them he obeyed,
she pleaded insanity.

They knew who she was,
everyone trembled in terror,
she could change oh so quickly,
she vanished and appeared crumpled on the ground.

He watched it unfold,
he stood on his cloud,
that poor victim of a boy,
when she vanished she appeared in front of him,
His lips moved but there was no sound.

She returned to earth,
she was cold,
she was dead like the many chosen,
her pointed finger was the only part of her unbroken.

Alice! Pay attention to your History Lesson!

Okay. So the "Almost Alice" track clips are out for all but three : Strange - Tokio Hotel ft. Kerli, Tea Party - Kerli and White Rabbit - Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. That being said I couldn't tell at all what the songs were like!

Overall the entire album I was impressed and surprised by a few of the artists on the album like Shinedown and Wolfmother. I was hoping to see some Modest Mouse on there but I guess one can only hope. The overall feel I got was pretty varied although it did lean a little to the dark, Tim Burton, ballad like music, which I'm not complaining about!

Would I buy it? yes!
Why? Well besides the fact there are some interesting artist choices, there are some interesting songs for those artists.
Favorite song so far? Can't tell till I've heard them all!

1: Avril Lavigne - Alice (Uderground): Everyone has been complaining about the "wailing" of her voice on this song. I actually find it quite refreshing to see her return to something other than that pop mess she put out a few years ago. It's a beautifully orchestrated song, her voice is quite powerful but at the same time the lyrics are not her strongest.

2: The All American Rejects - The Poison: Although it was just a quick clip of this song, I could tell it's something quite different than what this band regularly produces. It's a very good tempo for the song, the lyrics are a little more depressing I suppose is the word, but it sounds like a good song. Tyson Ritter's voice is quite sultry and all in all, one of the best on the album.

3: Owl City - The Technicolor Phase: With Owl City's sudden burst into fame these last few months I wasn't surprised to find a song on the album. It's probably the most upbeat and cheerful on the entire CD but really? What else could you expect from this band? Autotune or not, the lyrics speak volumes and produces vivid, colorful, happy images in ones head while listening to the song.

4: Shinedown - Her Name is Alice: I was quite surprised to find this band on the album only because the last album I had heard of them was the "Grind" soundtrack. It has the classic Tim Burton feel to it with a heavy rock feel. The voice screaming Alice is not my favorite thing in the world.. but it definately adds an edgy feel to the album.

5: All Time Low - Painting Flowers: This clip is probably the biggest surprise to me! I expected something quirky and upbeat with a tad bit of the usual ATL, instead I got this powerful slow song with Alex's voice serenading beautifully done guitar work. I am quite excited to hear the rest of this song but by far this song was one for the heart strings.

6: Metro Station - Where's My Angel: I'm kind of confused as to why this song was chosen for the album.. It is a pretty typical Metro Station-esque song but there really isn't anything lyrically that contributes to the "Alice" theme. I think they could've had potential for a great song with their dance style but this song just came up short.

8: 3OH!3 ft Neon Hitch - Follow Me Down: I was kind of excited to hear 3OH!3 was on the album and when I heard the song for the first time, I was kind of disappointed, but it's a song that grows on you. Super catchy, great to dance to and LOTS of Alice themed references.

9: Robert Smith - Very Good Advice: Never heard of the artist before but the clip of the song is probably one of my favorites. It's really quirky, really interesting and really well interpreted from the original Disney song. The singers voice sounds as though he is troubled by something which adds to the emphasis of this childlike musical background.

10: Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz - In Transit: This was another big shocker of a song. There was a little +44 reminiscint through the vocal styling of Mark Hoppus. The piano playing softly in the background was quite a changeup for both artists. This is probably one of the more anticipated songs off the album and with lyrics as deeps as those, it's no wonder!

11: Plain White T's - Welcome to Mystery: This was a song I could easily see Panic! at the Disco doing. It sounded a little like "a Lonely September" by the band mixed with Zelda The Ocarina of Time. I'd like to listen to more of the song but for the most part I'd say it's a change for the band.

13: Franz Ferdinand - The Lobster Quadrille: EASILY could've been a Modest Mouse song but I'm kind of glad that Franz Ferdinand did it! It's like a slowed down version of the Jolly Caucus Race from the original Disney movie. It is a little like "Sally's Song" from the Nightmare Before Christmas but so far probably top 3 off the album!

14: Motion City Soundtrack - Always Running Out of Time: Automatically reading the title you know this song is about the White Rabbit, even better, there's a clock metronome in the background of the song. Lyrics are good, song is a typical MCS song, but definately works with the feel of the album.

15: Wolfmother - Fell Down a Hole: This is probably the BIGGEST shock of the album only because it's Wolfmother.. It has their style to it and the lyrics fit but it's an interesting choice to the album. It has that in your face rock attitude. Definately a lot more upbeat compared to the rest of the album.

Final verdict: If you haven't given a listen to the tracks yet, head over to http://adisney.go.com/disneypictures/aliceinwonderland/#/epk/music/ and give them a listen for yourself. I think it's an awesome medley so far but I can't wait to hear the rest of it in full.

The Red Queen...

Of all the character's in Alice in Wonderland i LOVE the Red Queen... the Queen of Hearts... she was the inspiration for my online moniker... Queen VII.  She is awesome on so many levels!  Authoritative, demanding, stylish and she knows what she wants and she gets it!  She kicks ass and takes names and has fun doing it apparently!  Not the best rolemodel for girls, but she definitely makes a statement!

I had fun picking out an outfit that I felt would convey her awesome badass-ness!  I didn't want to go with something satin and regal and fancy.  I wanted something girly and tough and of course RED!

I love the mix of gold and silver metals... This is all from F21... I LOVE the studded tights and the rose peplum dress... might have to get those...  The 5 finger half gloves can be found on ebay!

Anyways... hope you are all enjoying February!!!  It's freezing blizzardly white over here!

Hearts and Roses,

Queen VII

Mad Hatter Inspired Outfit!

So here is the second outfit I had in mind that was inspired by Alice in Wonderland... Tim Burton style!

Instead of going fot the obvious hat choice, I think it would be more fun and different to wear hair clips bunched together!  Do your hair big and crazy and juxtapose them all together on one side!

Layer the necklaces over the top!

I LOVE the boots!!!  and the hideously awesome shorts!  I would totally rock this outfit... I am MAD as a Hatter though!!  All items are from F21... as per usual... i will work on expanding my horizons.

Today's a brand new day..

Just got home from shopping and grabbed some lunch at Subway... mmm. So full. I just love Subway.
Omg, I just saw a picture of Patrick Stump, he's lost a lot of weight, just found out about this now. But that's cool, he's such my inspiration!

The new Alice and Wonderland is going to be wicked. Just saw some new stills of it... amazing. Can't wait for that movie.
That's all I have to say, kinda.
Missed my friendies, and I can't wait to get back in touch with everyone. :)
