August 30, 2009justxbass's 5 of the Best and then all the Rest. [Week 1]So this is my first time doing this sort of thing, so I'm just gonna cut to the chase. Hopefully this will become a weekly thing for me. I will do my Top 5 things of the week. This being my favorite photograph (on Buzznet), video from anywhere, song, book and video game. Then all the rest being random things I happen to enjoy or find amusing throughout the week. So lets get on with the show. 5 of the Best! Photograph!
All credit to Rhianna Resolution for this, but this is a fantastic shot and it literally made me snort hot tea, It was definately worth the burnt nose though, those shorts are rediculous and very close to showing me Nate's Mate! There are some absolutely fabulous live shots from the Wisconsin Warped Tour on Rhianna's profile, so go check them out! Video! DISCRETION ADVISED. This made me laugh because it was so wrong. Watch. Enjoy. Jonnyethco (the man behind the video) has other videos up that are equally as funny. Song! This week I have totally been spamming Poison - Alice Cooper. Awesome song, great guitar riff, amazing lyrics and was actually wriiten about AIDS. If you haven't heard it, give it a listen. And even if you have, I demand you listen again. As now, for your auditory pleasure, I give you MR. ALICE. COOPER! Book!
This week I have chosen 'The Vampire Lestat' by Anne Rice. This is one of the better wriiten Anne Rice novels, which accounts for the "life" (or "un-life" if you prefer) of Lestat De Lioncourt, a vampire first featured in An Interview with a Vampire. The book is full of vampire lore and history. If you like vampires then this book is well worth reading. Video Game! This game has only just been released, but I can tell you now, Batman: Arkham Asylum is AMAZING. I played the demo last week and it played better than most games I've played recently, which is a feat considering it was only the demo and not the finished thing. If you like games, then this is one I recommend you buy. The voice acting is immence, especially for The Joker. It uses the Joker profile from the Batman cartoon series from the '90s, with Mark Hamill doing the voice acting. He is extremely creepy, more so than I thought he would be. The madness of the Joker is played to perfection, his laugh is really something to listen out for. Batman: Arkham Asylum is out now.
That brings us to the end of my 5 of the Best, now for the Rest. Things of interest and humour from my week - True Blood, www.fmylife.com, nights out with Jon to the pub, dive bombing Swallows, finding old school photographs, realising that I'd managed to avoid all Year Book photos, lolCats, things you can't do into Mordor, joining Twitter (Sam_Jayne), getting so angry I got into a laughing fit reading some of the comments on this site, using the phrase "JESUS WEPT" constantly, laughing at the E4 advert for Reaper where the girl exclaims "Like Satan is your real FATHER?!" what a ridiculous tone of voice, the phrase "Dope", watching Friends, the "headballs" from Queen of the Damned film. More next Sunday!

June 16, 2008The End of The Beginning of an EraI just finished my freshman year of college, but—I must say—the occasion felt less momentous than anticipated. This is probably because, unlike other years, it wasn’t really defined by a discreet, culminating moment. You know, the one you come to expect after the first twelve transitions from academic year to summer: a bell rings, papers start flying, kids start rejoicing, and—although it’s optional—the song “School’s Out Forever” should begin playing somewhere in the background. By those standards, 13th grade ended in somewhat disappointing fashion. Everyone finished their exams at different points in the week, and I was one of the stragglers. And even once all the academic obligations were out of the way, it was still no occasion to deck the halls with reams of loose-leaf. Quite the opposite, actually: dorm rooms had to be spic, span, and thoroughly emptied of our possessions by move-out day. The worst part is that I couldn’t even play “School’s Out Forever” because I had already sent my speakers to storage. Somewhere, Alice Cooper was wincing. But “all’s well that ends well” isn’t a saying I always ascribe to. On the whole, freshman year was good to me. Maybe it was me who wasn’t good enough to it. I could have flossed more, slept less, checked my mailbox more, spent fewer monies. But what am I saying? “Self-improvement” is something to think about at the end of the real year, not the academic one. I’m just happy to be back within 30 miles of DailyMe’s I'll be working part-time for my favorite personalized news service this summer, and can't wait to be back. Expect to read about some intern adventures that are twice as funny, twice as wacky, and twice as office-y as last year's. As Always - Peace, Love & Personalized Media, - John the Intern

February 4, 2008a little explanationeverything has felt out of wack lately. i've been restless and doubting everything i've done and want. i've been suffering anxiety attacks and personality glitches where i just feel so out of place. i can't seem to escape my bed in the mornings and get nervous at even the slightest thing. its freaking me out. and finally there is an explanation. planet retrograde. at current for about the next week all the planets aren't alligned sending everything out of order. they say it makes peoples personalities strange and makes people make decisions they otherwise wouldn't make. basically its a universal imbalance, affecting us all. well, at least theres an explanation and i may not be going crazy... yet. ahaha it will no doubt happen one day. had my interview today. the owner showed me his latest memorabila. Alice Cooper's top hat. Alice fucking Cooper. I touched Alice fucking Cooper's fucking hat! Talk about amazing. it was a little scruffy, since it was a stage prop, but still. once more. Alice fucking Cooper! not sure if i'll get it. had a good chat regardless. we'll see. saw a shirt i wanted there anyways. got a strawberry oasis smoothie from the fruit shop. made with fresh fruit and non-fat frozen natural yogurt. the only way to have a smoothie. tastes amazing. got art supplies. painted my nails black. new black heart and tiara charm neclace and new silver skull ring. cheap but completely me. love that. diet coke is my favorite. none of this zero nonsense. i feel like dancing ahaha and on that note i leave you. hoping this planet retrograde will end soon. dreading valentines day. kiss kiss.

August 16, 200711:11 p.m and Alice CooperOk so I went to our Kentucky State Fair tonight and I just got back home from seeing Alice Cooper. His band was awesome and were about my age. The two guitarists did a drum solo thingy I got on video with the drummer which I thought was cool when Alice Cooper went to change outfits in the middle of the show. He may be an old rocker but he still has it after all these years. I was surprised to see teens and people my age at the show. But then I realized that they grew up listening to his music as I did through parents. Pics and Videos up soon rockers.
