Adam and the Ants took the British music scene by storm in the early 80's with the release of their album "Kings of the Wild Frontier". The album spawned three top ten hits including the songs "Ant Music" and "Dog Eat Dog" It didn't take long for Adam and the Ant's to find success in the states. By 1983 Adam and the Ants were enjoying heavy radio and MTV rotation with the songs "Strip" and "Goody Two Shoes
They were one of the bands at the time that marked the transition from the 70s punk rock era to the New Wave/post-punk
era.
