What a day, 6 years ago, the twin towers...and today Joe Zawinul...(pictured here with Paco Séry)...
Ahhh, this is a very very sad day...
Where were you 6 years ago???
I was at work in Paris, working for an American consulting firm, and...at some point a colleague calls me and announces me some plane crashed into one of the towers and he was always such a joker I thought it was a joke, this is so sad...finally, I believed him, then our/my big boss called me, he was there and I knew that cause I am the one who booked his flight at the time...when everything happened he was about a mile away from the twin towers, in another tower in a big meeting, and saw everything from the windows...
What a tragedy...
When he was finally able to leave New York and come back to Paris, he could barely talk, he was so shocked...and him and I had such a good relationship he would easily share anything with me but this was from another dimension...
It took him weeks to at least be able to say anything about what he saw, or anything about this...
My heart and my soul are suffering for all those people who lost their lives, the ones who lost someone, (our company did loose 1500 people there...), and those who are still suffering, health problems and so on...Michael Moore took some of them on a trip to Cuba but there are so many of you, who will never be the same, and I am one of you as well, in my own little life, I will never be the same, because I am human...
R.I.P. Joe Zawinul...I can't believe I didn't go see you last time you were playing here at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center, plus my pal Armand was your bass player, shit!
