October 4, 200910 Years Of Showbiz.Exactly today is the release birthday of Muse's first record: Showbiz. The record that took the band to their amazing success career was recorded between 1998 and 1999. The songs got old tracks of Muse's setlist, dating it until 1996. The band had 50 songs which have been recorded before they went on studio, and, for the album, they chose the songs that they judge less progressive. John Leckie, who produced the record, started to go to Muse's concert in the half of 1998. Leckie worked on Saw Mills studio, which owner, Dennis Smith, gave the band free time for the band record, which became Muse EP. John built a relation with the band during this time, and he said that he would like to work with them, if they had enough conditions to pay him. The recording were finished in the 15th of May of 1999. In October 04th of 1999 it was the official release of the album. Right after the release, many critics were fast to deny that the album would make success because it had a sonority alike Radiohead's music, a comparison that many people still use. However, last month the record was added to the list of the 20 best british records of the last 20 years, by James Hurley, MSN Music editor, describing the album as: Even after the obvious comparison with Radiohead, what even called Thom Yorke's attention, Muse introduced themselves splendid, if not totally original and talented with this record. The record who gave origin to the first world tour, the first videoclip, the first awards, anyway... Better than words only the sound. The tip for this Sunday is to hear a record which was made 10 years ago and be proud to say that it's still very new, a modern sound, impressive, formidable, anyway... it's MUSE! MUSE.MU'S PROMOTION And to celebrate this great mark for the band's history, MUSE will be picking up 3 signed records! To have the chance to get one, just send an e-mail to showbizis10@muse.mu with your name, adress, and the answer to this question: "Back in 1999, Muse were signed in the US to Madonna's Maverick record label, but which rocker also tried to sign the band to his label a little later on in their career?" Good luck for everyone!! AND CONGRATULATIONS FOR SHOWBIZ!!

July 10, 2009UpdateHey everyone out there wondering what the hell we have been doing for the past month or so as we have been locked up in our secret laboratory somewhere in the Nevada desert. We have been working our asses off and creating the music that we have always wanted to create. This is the record we should of done first, and we are gelling like we did back in 99' when we didn't give a shit. This record definitely won't be called Division. I can't wait to get a sample out to you but for now it will be a minute. We plan on hitting the road in the next couple of months where you can for sure catch a couple of new tracks and we'll see all you upstaters at the K-Rockathon in August. So keep your eyes peeled for dates as they will be posted soon. We will be updating our myspace more often than we have lately I promise. See you all very soon........................10 Years

August 25, 2008Projekt RevolutionThis past Saturday Projekt Revolution made it's stop in Dallas at the Superpages.com Center. It was my first Projekt Revolution and the first time that I got to see Linkin Park. I met Rachel around 1:30'ish. We went to the venue and checked out like the only booth that they had there. It was Music For Relief, and thing that Linkin Park set up after the tsunami devastated South Africa in 2005. I bought a bracelet ad sticker. Here's the website you can visit: www.musicforrelief.org After that we made our way to the second stage, and got spots right up on the barricade for Armor for Sleep. Eventually they came on and started off the day. It was a great start for sure!!! Rachel knows more about them than I do, all I know is I enjoyed their set....OH! And I caught a drumstick. The only thing I've ever caught was a cold, so I was pretty stoked, I thought about giving the drumstick to Rachel, but she said don't worry about it cuz she already had a bunch of their schtuff. So I kept it :) Right after Armor For Sleep was Hawthorne Heights. Not a big fan of this band, they got about one song that I've ever heard, it's a good one, but I just never got into them. So no opinions on them...moving on. Next was 10 Years. I was really interested in seeing this band. They've got some good stuff out there. I was very happy with thier set. I'm not a hardcore fan of theirs, to be honest and the only stuff of theirs that I've heard have been on the radio, but I've really liked what I heard. They only songs that I'm absolutely sure they played were of course "Beautiful" and "Wasteland" (I love the last song) Other than that, I just enjoyed the rest of the music. Next was ATREYU!!!! This is the third time I seen these guys, and I've always been happy with them. They put on a great show, tons of energy. This was one of the bands I was really looking forward to seeing and they didn't dissapoint. They sang "Becoming the Bull", "Bleeding Macara", "Ex's and Ohs", "Falling Down", "Doomsday" and I can't remember what else. Right before their last song Atreyu said that they were doing a signing at a tent blah blah blah, so I went and grabbed Rachel and we ran and found where they were doing the signing, and got in line. So we stood in line for a bit and then a lady was passing out posters that the band was sign (Can I get a hell yeah for the free shit :D) The line going through their tent went pretty fast, I was bummed because the security bastards said "NO PICTURES" :( So no pics of me and my baby daddy LOL!!! Got up to the tent, Dan was the first at the table, so I got up there and handed him my poster and I was waiting for him to sign it and I was focusing on the pic and the signing and he wasn't doing anything and I looked up and he smiled really big at me...it was super cute! I never really noticed him before, just always looked at his guitar (Weird?), but he has a really cool guitar, so whatever. Anyway, yeah so I smiled back and he signed the poster, went through the rest of the guys and Alex was the last one, so I gave him my poster and said hi, told him I thought they were awesome blah blah blah. I tried to keep the words to a minimum so I wouldn't act certifiable! I think I did a good job :) So after that me and Rachel walked toward the mainstage, squeeling with delight the entire time. While standing in line, for Atreyu, we missed Street Drum Corps on the mainstage (It's okay though they made several appearances later on). Rachel had lawn tix, so I went and chilled with her during Ashes Divide. Once again, they are a band I've heard a song or two on the radio, but that is all I really knew of them. I had a good time listening to them. At this point the clouds started to move in! It is worth noting that the whole day up until Ashes Divide took the stage was HOT! It was so HOT! Everything was HOT HOT HOT!!! I had sweat so incredibly much, but as soon as we got to the mainstage the clouds came and everything cooled down considerably. The next band up was the Bravery. I seen these guys earlier in the year, and knew I was in for an energy packed performance, once again, these guys didn't dissapoint! I love The Bravery. I like their songs. I like to watch them on stage. They sang "Believe", "An Honest Mistake", "Time Won't Let Me Go", "Every Word From Your Mouth is a Knife in My Ear", "Fist Full of Sand", and more, but I can't remember! It was great!!! Next was the Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog/Audioslave/Chris Cornell show. I REALLY wasn't sure how this would go down. I seen Audioslave once in 05 and I had such a great time at that concert, but this was just going to be Chris Cornell, the solo act. Well he started off his seat in the best possible way an instrumental (pre-recorded) version of Black Hole Sun, it sounded like a lot of string instruments! It was fantastic. I don't remember the order of the songs, I just know that everytime he sang ALOT of Soundgarden and Audioslave. During the set the members of Street Drum Corps came out and played spoons during...Spoonman! (Get it?) He played "Outshined", "Show Me How To Live", "I Am The Highway". He played an acoustic version of "Like A Stone" which was beautiful. They started playing "Hunger Strike" and the whole place erupted, and then it managed to get even louder when Chester came out and started singing! It was a pretty cool. I think that moment and the moment that they started playing "Rusty Cage" was probably the most memorable of that set! "Rusty Cage" started and at first I recognized the song, but I couldn't think of what song it was, it just seemed familiar, and as soon as I realized what it was I litterally started flipping out. Bouncing all over the place. :) Chris sang some of his new stuff, it wasn't bad, it was just a little hip-hop-y, and I'm not so much into that stuff, but I would be willing to give it a chance! Last but not least was Linkin Park! Like I said earlier I was really excited to see them. I have never been a huge fan of them, I always liked the stuff I heard on the radio well enough, just never put much thought into them. But then I heard "Bleed It Out" and it was pretty much game over! I got Minutes to Midnight and fell in love with the band. Their set was amazing. It really was. There was so much energy, it was fantastic!!! Once again, I couldn't tell you what songs they sang and in what order, but I'll try :) I think the first song they sang was "One Step Closer" I was trying to enjoy that song and dance around while trying to avoid the flying elbows of the guy that was standing right next to me enjoying the song much more than I was :) They also sang "Numb", "In The End", "Breaking The Habit", "Lying From You". Chris Cornell and Street Drum Corps made appearances during their set. They also sang "What I've Done", "Shadow of the Day" (So good, it almost made me cry), "Given Up", and "Leave Out All The Rest" My favorite part of their set was after they were done with their set, before the encore I went and joined Rachel on the lawn, waiting for Linkin Park to come back out, I realized that they hadn't sang "Bleed It Out" yet, so I knew they were going to play it, it wouldn't have made since if they hadn't. So we were there waiting and they sang like two songs, I think I can't remember for the life of me what thy were and then the stage went dark, almost like they were done, but the house lights didn't come on. People started leaving. Me and Rachel kept saying, there is no way they are done blah blah blah so we waited and sure enough they came back and sand "Bleed it Out"!!! I was already sore and burnt and exhausted from the day, but I managed to muster up enough energy to shake my ass and sing real loud! I was in heaven :) I was literally out of breath by the end of that song!!! :) Overall I was really happy about the whole day. I had a great time :)

My very first Projekt Revolution was......AMAZING!!! I had soo much fun. Unfortanuetly I'm really sick now with a sinus infection, and can't breathe through my nostrils, but it was worth it!
The event was held at the same place where they have Warped Tour here ever year, so I though that I would be okay, and that this was going to be easy to get through. Prior to the show, I was really sick and my blood count was low. I got to the venue, Superpages.com, about 30 mins before the gates opened. Candace met me there a few mintues after I arrived. Once inside, I decided to go ahead and get a bottle of water, and we checked out the boothes. We when to the Music For Relief, which is a charity that Linkin Park supports, and bought bracelets:
If you want to know more about it, please visit http://www.musicforrelief.org/ When we go back to the stage, the main stage area didn't open until around 5, Hawthorne Heights was already in the middle on their first song. I'm going to be honest in saying that I am not a big fan of them. I've seen them a couple of times, and just didn't enjoy it. I do like their first cd, but just not their live preformance. It was sad though not seeing Casey or hearing his screams. Their fans enjoyed it, and sung loud and proud. During their set what little engery I had was gone. The heat and humidity took it's toll on me and I had to sit down and rest for a while. We sat on a sidewalk, and could still see the stage really good, so I decided to stay there for the rest of the time. 10 years was after Hawthrone Heights. I really like 10 years.Candace went and took some really awesome pictures on the band. You guys should check them out! They played their lastest hit "Beautiful", and "Wasteland". Those are the only two songs I know but them right now. I'm definately going to go get their cds. Atreyu was the last band to play on the Revolution Stage. I LOVE Atreyu and have been trying to see them live for the longest. I though that since I rested during 10 Years and Hawthrone Heights that I would be able to go back up front and rock out to them.....WRONG!!! I had to sit their set out too. I know my limits and I have way too much coming up to get sick and go in the hospital, so I didn't push myself. They started off with Doomsday from their lastest CD Lead Sails Paper Anchor. I don't have that cd yet, but know a lot of songs off of it because one of my friends plays that CD non-stop. They also played Falling Down, Becoming the Bull, Ex's and Oh's, Bleeding Mascara, Lose It, The Crimson, Right Side of the Bed, and ended their set with my all time favorite Atreyu song, Lip Gloss and Black. Thrus the end of their set, something happened at the gate that I was sitting at and someone got arrested. Apparently someone had way too much to drink! Also, Alex annouced they were doing a signing so Candance and I ran over to the boothe and waited in line with all the other Atreyu fans. Posters were pasted out to everyone in line and the security told everyone in line that we could only get one item signed and we couldn't take pictures with the band. It sucked but the band was only there for 30 mins and I guess they wanted everyone to get their posters signed and taking pictures would take up too much time. Getting the poster signed totally made up for missing their set:
For the rest of the show I had a lawn seat and Candace had a regular seat so I bought a blanket along with me to sit on. Because of the Atreyu signing we missed Street Drum Corp set, which was bittersweet for me. I really wanted to see them again, but why would I miss a chance to meet the guys in Atreyu?! For the lawn, I could see the sign really good, and Candace decided to hang out with me on the lawn until the Bravery's set, which was really sweet of and her. Ashes Divide took the stage, and my friends called me wanting me to meet them. They scored VIP pass due to a friend who joined the Army, and had just arrived at the venue. So I missed Ashes Divide trying to find them which sucks, but it was cool to see them again. I didn't miss The Bravery and my friends better be glad I didn't! I really like this band. They have so much engery on stage. There's never a dull moment watching them. Their setlist included Believe, Time Won't Let Me Go, An Honest Mistake (one of my favorite songs), Unconditional, Swollen Summer, and Every Word Is A Knife in my Ear. One of the funniest moments of their set was thrus the end when the lead singer said that they would sign anything including your tits after the show. Candace came back to the lawn to hang with me until Chris Cornell came on. Once again, she didn't have to do that, but she did!! She's super nice!! Chris Cornell played songs from Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and Soundgraden of course. I cried during most of the Soundgraden songs. Can I just say how beautiful that guy is??!?!?!?!!! He looks the same as he did in the Soundgraden videos. My friends met my on the lawn during his set and comfront me while I cried my eyes out. So finally it was time for Linkin Park to do their thing on stafe. I liked them, but I wasn't a really big fan of there's......... UNTIL I SAW THEM LIVE!!!!! I have their first two CDs, Hybrid Theory and Meteora, and will get their lastest one soon. They play all their biggest hits and all the songs I wanted to hear including In the End, Numb, One Step Closer, A Place for my Head, Points of Authority, What I've Done, Somewhere I Belong, Shadow of the Day, Crawling, Faint, Breaking the Habit, Given Up, Papercut, From the Inside (one of my favorite songs by them!!!), Nobody's Listening, By Myself, and ended their set with Bleed It Out which featured a kick ass drum solo from the guys in Street Drum Corp. Even though I wasn't feeling good, inhaling cigarette smoke and who knows what else, I danced my ass off. My knee was also hurting because I had to run to the restroom during Chris Cornell after downing my one and only beer for the day, it was WAY too hot to drink anything but water. I had an amazing time rocking out to the bands and hanging out with Candace. I'm sick now, but know that it willn't last. It was totally worth it. I'm sure I will be attending next year's Projekt Revolution! *Note to self: Don't buy a lawn ticket* Related Groups:
