Weezer's Brian Bell Talks Latest Weezer Rumor; Side ProjectWeezer is denying that they've begun work of a new record ... A rumor that has been circulating online since last month.
![]() "We're still going to focus on promoting the 'Red' album, and when we have the songs and the time feels right, we'll record [again]," guitarist Brian Bell told Spinner, claiming that someone had simply 'jumped the gun' about the possibility of new tunes in the near future. Speaking of new music, Bell also announced plans to release a record by his side project, The Relationship, of which he is the singer, sometime in the future. (Bell has also played with The Space Twins, Carnival Act and Homies). The Relationship currently has only one rock-meets-country jam, "Are You Gonna Be," available on their MySpace page and will be opening up for Weezer during their October 14 show in Inglewood and October 17 show in San Diego. (Fun Fact: Bell sings "Thought I Knew" on Weezer's latest record and has been known to sing "El Scorcho" live during Weezer shows.) Weezer has much to celebrate these days. The band recently broke many World records in their latest music video for "Troublemaker" and Idolator has provided the official list of certified records that will soon be published in the "Guinness Book of World Records" (and maybe even it's wacky museum counterpart someday): Largest Air Guitar Ensemble: 233 people Largest Game of Dodgeball: 100 people Longest Guitar Hero: World Tour Marathon: 10:12:54 Most People in a Custard Pie Fight: 120 Most People Riding on a Skateboard: 22 Weezer tour dates (Click on the show you are attending and post in the tour community): 10.14: Inglewood, CA @ Great Western Forum 10.17: San Diego, CA @ Cox Arena at Aztec Bowl 10.18: Phoenix, AZ @ Arizona State Fair 10.20: Austin, TX @ Frank Erwin Center 10.21: Grand Prarie, TX @ Nokis Theatre @ Grand Prarie 10.23: Houston, TX @ Reliant Arena 10.25: Duluth, GA @ Gwinnett Center - Kyla B.
