Weezer Begin Work on Seventh Album; Another Color Title is a Strong PossibilityInstead of sitting back and enjoying the success of The Red Album this fall while they tour the U.S., Weezer's creative juices are flowing and the band has already begun to write their next album.
![]() NME revealed that the band will head back in the studio this November and will once again be working with The Red Album producer Garret 'Jackknife' Lee. "We send him stuff that we've got, ideas that we have, whether it's a whole song or a killer riff we can build around or something, drummer Pat Wilson told Billboard. For the first time in Weezer history, all four members sang on The Red Album and according to Wilson, 'all four members will contribute to writing, vocals and instruments' because "it is a 'healthy way to keep everything feeling fresh' after 15 years together." Will the next album be called The Orange Album, The Purple Album, The Honeydew Album!? All joking aside, the band is actually considering naming their seventh album after another color. "If I had my way, we would just use colours from now on, then we wouldn't have to think about titles. We must've had a hundred titles for the ('Red') record, and none of them felt right so we just gave up and said, 'OK, let's just make a color,'" said Wilson. Don't expect Weezer to be hiding out until they release their next disc. The band will be on tour starting September 23 with Angels and Airwaves.
