United Nations Get in Trouble With ... The United Nations!

United Nations hasn't even played their first show, but has already felt the wrath of an entire organization of haters ... The real United Nations!

The band recently had their Facebook profile deleted, and was delivered a brief message that read: "The use of the name 'United Nations' by the band and the use of its Logo which resembles the UN emblem has not been authorized and violates international and United States laws ..." I guess they didn't have anything better to do that day than attack Daryl Palumbo and the gang.

United Nations' MySpace is alive and well, although the band has posted a recent blog regarding the organization, perhaps in an attempt to protect themself from further deletion, that reads "We are in know way an official or unofficial branch of the United Nations Organization, as acknowledged by international or US law. In case there was any confusion as to what we are, here is the simple explanation: A BAND. A PARODY. THANKS."

According to Alternative Press, the band will be sharing the stage with such acts at Anti-Flag and The A.K.A.'s for their first show at an event on January 20 (Inauguration Day) at The Black Cat in Washington, D.C. called Demand In D.C.: Applauding The Empowerment Of People Thru Art/Photo/Film/Music.

United Nations also features Geoff Rickly of Thursday and, although unconfirmed for legal reasons (like when Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory couldn't admit that he was in Hazen Street), Ben Koller of Converge, Christopher Conger ex-drummer of The Number 12 Looks Like You, Jonah Bayer of The Lovekill and Eric Cooper of Made Out of Babies are all rumored to be members of the band.

The band released their debut self-titled full-length in September of 2008, with a 7'', Never Mind the Bombings, Here's Your Six Figures, to be released before 2009.
