Three Cheers for Sweet Vinyl

As My Chemical Romance continues to taunt us with the NONEXISTENCE of their follow up to The Black Parade, they are at least trying to keep fans somewhat satiated.  After all, we did get the fantastic live CD/DVD set The Black Parade is Dead!, as well as an update on the plans for the next album, complete with a promise that My Chem will be going back to a more raw and less produced sound.

But how strong is MCR's devotion to being old school?  Well, we can't be totally sure, but an announcement made today might be a hint: they're releasing a special limited edition red vinyl pressing of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, their major label debut and break out album.

Three Cheers is also a rougher album than TBP, with more punk influence and a less produced sound to it.  Originally it was reported that the cd had a storyline about two lovers separated by death, a very Orpheus-and-Eurydice-with-a-hell-of-a-lot-more-brutal-murders sort of thing, which I would not be opposed to seeing in comic form.  It was also the last album recorded with MCR's original line-up, before Bob Bryar stepped in as drummer.  Oh, and the last album before Gerard Way overcame his drug and alchol addiction.

Could this be a hint at what sort of sound we can expect in the future?  Or is it just a nice thing to do for the fans while the band works on the new album as well as their cover of "Desolation Row" by Bob Dylan for next year's Watchmen film?  And hey, just to get you talking, do you have a favorite track from Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge?

Red vinyl is lovely...when it plays music by The White Stripes.

I think my uncle has a record player and we might have one here.. YAY!! Lol. I really want it. Oh, and I don't really have a fav. song off of Revenge, but I listen to Helena, I'm Not Okay (I Promise) The Ghost of You, and Hang 'Em High the most. :D Can't wait til it comes out! Any clue as to when it will come out?

So I'm definitely glad to hear that the boys are keeping somewhat busy. I think this vinyl version of Three Cheers will be a nice way to keep those ravaging kids a little occupied while My Chem does their thing. As much as I would love to buy it, money is definitely a bit of a drag right now.

Thanks for keeping us fans updated, Buzznet!

P.S. My favorite song on Three Cheers is easily You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison cause at the very end of the song Gerard giggles. It's pretty amazing.

I just blew a ton of money on All Time Low tickets...I don't have the money for MCR vinyl or a record player OR EVEN The Black Parade Is Dead. Woe is me.

And my favorite track from Three Cheers is either "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" or "I Never Told You What I Do For A Living". Those songs...they are so incredibly amazing.
