Palin Gives Bon Jovi ... A Bad NameRemember last week when we reported on how upset the Foo Fighters were at John McCain for using their song "My Hero" in his campaign without permission? And then he got his wrist slapped again today, for using "Eye of the Tiger"? Looks like Sarah Palin did the exact same thing to legendary rocker Jon Bon Jovi!
![]() "We wrote this song as a thank you to those who have supported us over the past twenty-five years. The song has since become a banner for our home state of New Jersey and the defacto theme song for our partnerships around the country to build homes and rebuild communities. Although we were not asked, we do not approve of their use of 'Home'," Jovi announced in a recent statement, according to NME. Palin is lucky for now that Bon Jovi has not revealed plans to sue her for the misue of the song. Especially because he is openly a Barack Obama supporter! (Jovi held a Obama fundraiser at his home, not to long ago). It seems as if the Republican Party does not care about the rights of musicians ... or perhaps just hair bands from the '80s. "It's frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property," Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl declared in a statement last week. McCain and Palin had also been using Heart's "Barracuda" at their political events back in September, according to MTV News, although it later turned out that the party did obtain the neccessary rights to play the song. Hopefully this will teach Palin and McCain to speak directly to Creed, Harvey Danger, Tatu or any of the other artists whose songs they may utilize in the near future! With all this focus on the Republicans, one can only wait and see if Obama makes the same mistake of angering some of today's most respected rockers. Jon Bon Jovi won't mind if you add some of his songs to your MyMusic player from his song library!

Another one?
O_O
how can they just keep trying to use songs without permission and not expect to get reprimanded?
