Katy Perry has become a household name with her hit single "I Kissed a Girl" and recent cake-jumping incident. But fans need not worry about her turning into the next Britney Spears (the downfall of) because she claims to be prepared for the future.

"You have to be really strong-headed to survive in this industry. If you are going to get into it, lose your vices because they are not something you should have - especially if you are in the public eye. Eat your vegetables, take your vitamins and be discerning about the people that are around you," Perry explained to Female First.

"Know who is a creep and who is not, who is there for the right reasons and who is not there for the right reasons."

Perry's latest single "Hot N Cold" continues to receive heavy airplay, while "I Kissed a Girl" can still be heard at any given moment on three stations at once. (Are you sick of it yet!?) With all of Perry's sudden fame, hopefully she won't soon forget the advice she's revealed to Female First.

Meanwhile, Gym Class Heroes singer (and boyfriend) Travis McCoy recently revealed that Perry's hit song may not have reached the success it has without him, because Perry wasn't even sure she wanted to release it! "As soon as Katy played 'I Kissed A Girl' to me, I said: 'Baby, this is a smash.' I totally knew from the word go, but she wasn't so sure. She was like: 'Do you really think?' McCoy told The Daily Star.

And what about the Gym Class Heroes / Katy Perry collaboration you've been waiting for? When Buzznet interviewed bassist Eric Roberts at Warped Tour on August 17, he avoided the question, giving off an 'anything is possible' response. McCoy seemed more certain that it won't happen. "We're Travis and Katy, not Sonny and Cher. We give each other's music constructive criticism, but that's it. Fortunately the rest of Gym Class Heroes love her. She's no Yoko [Ono]. My bandmates have admitted she's the first girlfriend I've gone out with that they can stand."
