Patrick Stump Eager to Work on Fall Out Boy's 'First Plain Old Record in a While'In case you don't think Fall Out Boy love what they do, frontman Patrick Stump has revealed that the bandmembers were even talking about their next album at Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson's recent wedding.
![]() "The band is really not talking about a record yet, but we're all itching to do one," Stump told Billboard.com, before qualifying: "Actually at the wedding we were like, 'We should do another record.' But I never want to mislead people. "There's been rumors of us doing our next record for a long time, but it kind of comes from a misunderstanding about how we work because we're always writing," he added. "We've had material since Infinity on High dropped [in February 2007]. So there is plenty just floating around, but it's basically like whenever you're ready to go in and do it again, that's when it happens." Stump also reassured fans about the band's status, saying "there is nothing hiatus or indefinite about what's going on [with the band] right now." The most concrete information Stump could give about the new material was, by his own admission, somewhat vague. But he was unequivocal on one point: The new album will certainly explore new musical territory. He says what the band has been working on will be different from their last three albums, with "a lot of freedom on it." He added that when they do enter the studio, they'll have "much more material written than when they began recording any of their last albums." However, he isn't sure whether that will be a help or a hindrance. If anything is likely to be a hindrance, it's the "life stuff" that the individual bandmembers have been focusing on of late. Stump, for example, has been spending his free time producing Tyga, The Cab and Gym Class Heroes. He's also been exploring the world of filmmaking, working on a short film that is a "satire of the arts" and draws on his own experience as a musician. Stump isn't the only Fall Out Boy with other irons in the fire, of course: Wentz and Simpson recently confirmed that they're expecting their first child.

'Different from their last three albums, with "a lot of freedom on it."' wow! intresting! whats that supposed to mean? i heared someone say that they write songs like oasis...i dont know if its true or not, just saying, but im deffinitely will like whatever they do... :)
Ooh. to be honest i dont mind when they make a new record. im sure if we're fans we can wait for the good stuff? Hahh.
Hmm. Different from the last three and with lots of freedom... what does that mean, Sir Stump? :/ That man likes to confuse us.
I can't wait for his short film. I already love it with a name like that!
"The Moustachette" LMFAO. It reminds me of "Moustache" then I start laughing like crazy. :/ I need sleep.
Back on topic, I'm sure the new Fall Out Boy album will be just as good, if not better than the last three? *counts on fingers*
Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend
Take This To Your Grave
From Under The Cork Tree
Infinity On High
LoL! They NEVER count the first one. Maybe they don't like it? :/
I can't wait for the next album! I must buy it when it comes out.
But i love all of their reckords, and i admire them for standing out.
They definitely don't like it. Whenever anyone asks Andy about it, he's very quick to say "Hey! I had NOTHING to do with that." It's hilarious.
I dunno...I personally like Evening Out... "Short, Fast, and Loud" is a fabulous song. Ditto "Pretty In Punk."
patrick's cute, lol.
