An EP, short for "extended play," is supposed to be a release that is too long to qualify as a single but too short to be a full-length album. Looks like Relient K haven't gotten that memo yet – the band is planning a 26-track "EP" that will run almost 70 minutes.



The pop-punkers, who are co-headlining this summer's Warped Tour, will drop the hefty retrospective set on July 1, at which point the festival will be well under way. The Bird and the Bee Sides will feature 13 new songs, as well as demos, B-sides and other rarities from Relient K's 10-year career. The diverse effort also features songs written and sung by all five bandmembers.

"We were just trying to think of what our fans would want from a B-sides record," frontman Matt Thiessen said in a statement. "We're like, 'They probably just want everything' – so let's try to give it to them."

Relient K have also conjured up an online scavenger hunt that will see fans chasing down additional B-sides that didn't make the cut on The Bird and the Bee Sides. The hunt starts June 16 on the band's MySpace and ends June 30.
