Scarlett Johansson to direct short film

Following the success of Paris, je t'aime, New York will get their own movie about love in the Big Apple. This time around, Scarlett Johansson will step behind the camera to direct one of the twelve short films appearing in the collection. Who else is set to contribute to New York, I Love You?

Paris je t'aime, release just under two years ago, was comprised of 18 short films from the likes of Alfonso Cuaron, Wes Craven, Gus Van Sant, and Walter Salles. I'd attempt to list who starred in the film, but it's ridiculous. A ton of good actors; I'll just say that.

So the news that we'll get an American version (set in New York) is pretty neat. (Apparently, this will become an ongoing series with different cities being the focus of the film collection.)

I'm indifferent to the news that Johansson will be directing, as I have no idea what her talents are behind the camera. But I'll give a hearty, "Huzzah!" to the news that another women will be directing. More women directors!

Wow, that's an awesome concept. And I'll be interested to see what she can do as a director.
it's great that she's stepping forward to try her chops ...

sounds interesting
why do all the hollywood stars get to do stuff like that haha i'm reserving judgement, what would be a good idea is maybe get the film students involved as well give them more experience i'd go for that wonder if they'll use the same concept in the UK too

Hm. Out of all the blonde actresses, she's more of a favorite. So, if she's trying out directing, for a short film, she earns a little more of my respect.

She was born and raised in NY, so I'm hoping she'll have an interesting perspective, at the very least.

Actually, I don't have any problem with her, but I'm more interested in Cuaron and Gus Van Sant. And Wes Craven (!!!??).
