Rumors about the engaged couple possibly getting married had mounted over the course of the week, culminating in the reported ceremony.

"We're delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends," a spokesperson who was not named said, according to the mag.

But that's not the only big news for the couple, who announced their engagement last month: Simpson and Wentz are expecting their first child, the publication says.

People also said Joe Simpson, Ashlee's dad, performed the ceremony at his house in front of 150 people. Among them were Tony Romo, the boyfriend of sister Jessica Simpson; Nicole Richie and Joel Madden; and others.

The wedding had been expected as chatter built over the course of the week.

"Now that I'm doing it, I definitely have that big dream," Simpson told People on Friday. "It kind of went more fairy tale than I thought. I got really into it." Wentz added: "She has this amazing imagination and to watch it take place is an awesome thing."

Wentz told L.A. radio station 98.7 Tuesday, "I was in the 'friend zone' with her for a good solid year. I spent a long time in the 'friend zone.' "

"The first time we really hung out she flashed me," Wentz recalled.

"I lifted my dress over my head," Simpson joked.
