Hoof It To "Rockville, CA," For A Closer Look At Your Fave BandsYou might not recognize Alexandra Patsavas' name, but odds are you're waaaay familiar with her work. After all, she's a huge part of why we heart Gossip Girl and Twilight; she's the lady with mad style who picks out all the awesome tunage to appear in the background of your fave scenes and on-screen moments. Patsavas didn't let me raid her iTunes, but she did let me ask her a few questions regarding a new web show called Rockville, CA, for which she also has coordinated the music.
Photo Credit: Elizabeth Thorp/Warner Bros. Television Group For Rockville, CA, Alex Patsavas teamed up with writer/producer Josh Schwartz (Gossip Girl and The O.C. ) to produce the unique series for TheWB.com, which premieres today (March 17, 2009). The show takes place in a an entirely fictional Los Angeles indie music venue called Club Rockville, where a group of twentysomethings constantly argue, crush on each other, make out and listen to some of the hottest up-and-coming bands—like Frightened Rabbit, The Kooks , Phantom Planet, White Lies, Passion Pit , Lykke Li, The Little Ones—perform. Patsavas is a busy lady, but I was able to do a quickie Q&A with her. Here's what she had to say about Rockville, CA: What albums are you most stoked for coming out in 2009? Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and Silversun Pickups' Swoon. Which song that you chose for the show Rockville, CA is the most suggestive of an awesome makeout moment? What happens in episode 106 ("D List") where you use the Passion Pit song "Sleepyhead?" In this episode, Chambers (Ryan Hansen) invites two typical “Hollywood” girls to the club. The club isn’t what they expect and Chambers is later reprimanded by Shawn (part-owner of the club, played by Bonnie Burroughs) for his liberal guest invite list. Later, he finds out that his band, “Pretty Committee,” isn’t as popular as he thinks. Also, be sure to leave some comments with your questions for Alexandra Patasavas. You never know when I might catch up with her again!
