Fans Try to Bring NOFX to Scotland; Offer Protection From 'Biker Gang'Desperate for your favorite band to play your town? NOFX fans have created a petition to bring the punk rockers back to Scotland to perform. Wait until you hear why the band hasn't been there since 2002!
![]() According to the petition, which currently has only 54 signatures, NOFX were 'involved in an altercation with what [singer] Fat Mike has described as a "biker gang" - who tried to attack them with "screwdrivers and pipes" when they performed at Scotland's "Gig On The Green" Festival in August of '02.' Geez ... I wouldn't want to go back there either, would you? The petition calls out the band for constantly returning to the U.K. for shows and tries to validate whey they should return: "If the biker gang were so dangerous, and such a threat to the band and their crew then why have they not ventured across the border to attack the band when they have played in Newcastle or other northern English cities? The threat the 'biker gang' represent is more of an imaginary fear than a real material one. And it is for this reason that we are uniting as one voice to demand that NOFX stop persecuting the fans that love them the most, the Scottish, and book a fu**ing show in Scotland." I wonder what Fat Mike and the gang will think when they hear people are claiming that they suffer from an 'imaginary fear.' Wouldn't this make them want to visit Scotland even less (Or maybe they'd want to go to bust some heads)? The petitioners promise the band a wall of safety if they return, explaining, "We promise to beat down upon anyone who tries to take from us something we love so dearly and we also promise to give you the best show of the tour and as much free whisky as you desire." Too bad their are no pictures of these 'protectors' included within the petition, for it could possibly make the statement more of something to consider. Don't forget to sign up here! I would travel to Scotland just to see if the biker gang showed up. If not, I would atleast o to Loch Ness to look for Nessie.

Also the whole Newcastle thing - I can't see people willing to travel approximately 4 hours just to start crap with people, especially if they have to fork out for the train fare - its not worth it
If fans are that concerned with seeing the band they should travel to the closest venue, like I have to travel to Scotland when bands choose not to play Newcastle.
Saying that you do realise that Scottish venues have security, there's very little "biker gang" trouble and THOUSANDS of bands play here every year and get a great reception.
So MAN UP NOFX and come see your fans.
