Fall Out Boy Confirms L'il Wayne and Debbie Harry Cameos on Folie a Deux

Fall Out Boy has gained a reputation for crossing genre lines and attempting to borrow from both rock and hip hop in their music.  And it looks like their upcoming album, Folie a Deux, will take that one step further with some big name cameos.

While Pete Wentz had originally denied involvement from hip hop stars Kanye West and Lil Wayne, claiming "none of the guests but the ones we have named are currently on the record."  And hey, an album featuring guest work from Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco and Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship still sounds pretty damn good to me.

But music is a living thing, and change is pretty much inevitable.  In an e-mail to MTV, Wentz announced three huge names who will be lending their skills to the album.  Pharrell, who appears in the video for the album's first single "I Don't Care," has produced a track on the album.  And two huge cameos have been announced:  Lil Wayne will indeed appear on the album.

As will Blondie's Debbie Harry.

An album that stretches it's influences from Debbie Harry to Lil Wayne?  How is that possible?  Pete's statement was "I just think the record is going to be diverse."

It's not like Fall Out Boy is a stranger to diversity in music.  In fact, just listening to From Under the Cork Tree back-to-back with Infinity on High shows that not only is the band ready to flex some creative muscle, but that they're also a band unafraid of taking chances and making changes in the name of producing awesome music.

What do you guys think of these cameos?  Which track do you think these stars will be appearing on?  And can you believe it's still a month until we get this album?

I honestly can't predict which songs they'd be on. The cameos are interesting, but to be honest, I'm more interested when Patrick cameos on other bands songs. His voice is magic.

Debbie Harry is.....ehhh. And I love Weezy, but I don't know how that will all pull off. Sounds to me like they want a top 10 smash, so they got someone who could take them there.

You took the words right from my brain.

I do not like Lil Wayne. I'd rather them spend $100,000+ on something other than his cameo, to be honest.

oh my gaah. Who ISN'T involved with Folie A Deux?
it's a madness of more than just two 0___0
seems like everyone who's anyone is playing some part.

I hope it lives up to the hype.

the cameos are interesting. but i'm more interested in Gabe's and Brendon't cameo's. cause they've never done a cameo on an FOB song before. and i don't think the cameo's wil affect the music too much. it'll probably be something like the Jay-z cameo on IOH anyways...something small...or big, who knows? FOB is constantly surprising me these days.

*whines* I KNOW!! still a whole MONTH. ugh. i wish it'd come out sooner. i'm not sure if i'm going to pre-order it though. cause it comes out on a monday and tuesday...which i'm confused about. they say the album comes out november 3rd and 4th, but how's that possible? am i going to be able to get it on the 3rd then? cause that'd be pretty convenient.

i like Pharrel, his cameo will probably be pretty awesome, i'm not to sure about Weezy though...i never really liked his songs...lollipop is the only one that i slightly like. and i only like the beginning of it. his other songs are just...stupid, lyric wise i at least...

Actually, Brendon sang on From Under the Cork Tree! He was the second voice on "7 Minutes in Heaven" and I think he may have done some backing vocals for "A Little Less 16 Candles."

This is soooo awesome!!!

I mean, FOB is already amazing on their own,
And I have absolutely loved every little thing they`ve ever done.
But as has proven the case before, Weezy being on board is going to make that song an instant smash, whichever track he ends up on....And come on. Debbie Harry is a rock icon! It`s about time they had a girl jam with them on a record, and Debbie was the chick that every girl wanted to be like back in the day, so what could possibly be more perfect?
