No Doubt, The Offspring, More Come to the Aid of Sick Lit DrummerBack in May, Lit made the unforuntate announcement that their drummer, 39-year-old Allen Shellenberger, was suffering from a malignant brain tumor. To help raise money for Shellenberger pricey medical bills, the band is working with The Make A Noise Foundation to auction off a ton of autographed memorabilia from an array of bands, as well as some once in a lifetime offers!
![]() Perhaps the most memorable item on the list, Lit will be having dinner with you at their Fullerton restaurant, The Slidebar, and will be picking you up VIP style beforehand. Also up for auction is a free tattoo from Aces High (where Lit has gotten some of their tats), a private dinner at your SoCal home from Slidebar chef Walter Rowin and the 'most I never thought that would happen' opportunity to shave off guitarist Jeremy Popoff's infamous goatee that he's had since many of you were in diapers! Bands submitting autographed CD booklets, amps, drumheads, t-shirts and so forth include: The Offspring, No Doubt, Pennywise, The Rocket Summer, New Found Glory, Red Hot Chili Peppers and much more. (Check out the full list here.) Recently, Shellenberger and singer A.J. Popoff stopped by DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show to interact with fans and talk about Shellenberger's situation and the future of Lit (The band has since played a few shows and has been working on new music.) ![]() [Click picture to view gallery] Lit hit it big in 1999 with the release of their second album, A Place in the Sun. I'm sure you all remember the incredibly catchy song "My Own Worst Enemy," or perhaps the music video for "Miserable," which featured the band performing on a giant Pamela Anderson. Perhaps you caught Lit on tour throughout the years with acts like The Offspring, Silverchair, No Doubt and even Kid Rock. Their most recent full-length was self-titled and released back in 2004.
