Both Deftones singer Chino Moreno, and bassist Chi Cheng's mother Jeanne, have posted blog updates this past weekend to let us know the current status on Cheng, after an automobile accident last week left him in a coma.



The latest news came this morning from Jeanne and it's filled with positivity and honest advice ...
 
"Chi is showing definite signs of improvement," Jeanne declared in a MySpace blog on the band's page. "His father expects when he wakes up fully that they may have to re sedate him so that he doesn't start pulling out tubes and wires from his body... Again you are so very much appreciated, god has his hand on our son, please continue to lift him in prayer. For today please forgive someone who has wronged you or wronged yours. Not forgiving is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die. Please continue to stay buckled, show love and spread kindness throughout the day to those around you".
 

On Sunday, Moreno posted an update of his own that revealed the initial signs of Cheng's road to recovery ...

"This Sunday saw the first signs of your prayers in action," Cheng stated. "Chi was able to hear and respond to his father's request to move his lower lip. His father also administered a tendon reflex test, of which both legs responded with movement. Doctors continue to remain optimistic, and the energy at the hospital remains very positive."

Once again, everyone at Buzznet wants to wish Cheng a speedy recovery!

The Deftones, nearing 21 years together, is working on their sixth full-length, Eros, and has been posting various studio videos from the recording process on their studio blog.  Their last record, Saturday Night Wrist, was released back in 2006.
