Dave Grohl Announces Foo Fighters Break: 'I Think It's Time'After 13 years and 6 records, Foo Fighters has announced that the band is going on hiatus! I mean, after three years of non-stop touring, they need a vacation, right?
![]() "We've never really taken a long break, I think it's time," singer Dave Grohl told BBC 1 Radio. According to NME, the band announced that their will not a followup record to 2007's Echos, Silence, Patience and Grace in the near future ... but it's not the end of the band. Overkill may be the main reason behind the hiatus as Grohl also told BBC 1, "We're over in the UK every year, every summer, so I think it's time to take a break and come back over when people really miss us." Perhaps he doesn't want fans to get bored of seeing the Foo's in concert a few times a year? At least you can be sure that the radio will never stop playing them! (All four rock stations in Los Angeles play a Foo Fighters' song about once an hour.) Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters recently appeared on DJ Rossstar's Punk Rock Show to promote his own band, Jackson United, and revealed that the band's busy extensive touring schedule was partly due to the fact that he had more free time as a result of the Foo Fighters taking a break. ![]() [Click picture to view gallery] Are you a Foo Fighters fan? Ahem: I understand the need for the hiatus and they're one of the hardest working bands in the rock industry. But they really do need time to take a break and live a little and enjoy some of the upsides of celebrity.
foo fighters is one of those 'classic' bands. they'll definitely be around for a while, is my prediction.
anyways I think they do deserve it I mean Dave and Taylor have young kids now so a break would be good for them
