Anarbor Loses Member: 'I Feel it is Time For Me to Move Onto a Different Path'

If you are planning to attend any of Anarbor's upcoming shows, you will immediately notice that a very important member of the band is gone, and has no plan to come back anytime soon.

"After 5 years of being a part of this group, I have made the choice to leave," former bassist Jess Myers started off a recent blog on the band's MySpace page. "Despite what you may have heard already, in no way are the boys and I parting on bad terms. Greg [Garrity], Adam [Juwig]Mike [Kitlas] and Slade [Echeverria] are my brothers that I love more than anything and best friends for life, I wish them the best of luck for whatever comes their way and I know they will be successful because not only are they talented musicians, they work hard and deserve to be successful."

I'm sure you are all wondering what led Myers to make this life changing choice ...

"Although this was a heartbreaking decision I feel it is time for me to move onto a different path for different reasons, but I will continue to play and write music for as long as I can. Hopefully I can also share that with you in the future. I want to thank those of you who have heard about the death in my family, and were there for me at such a hard time in my life, I truly appreciate it and would like you to know my family is doing well. This is something I need to do for myself, and I hope you all can understand and wish me luck at whatever it is I choose to go after in life. I am very lucky and proud to be able to say I was a member in Anarbor and will never forget that. Thank you."

The band has not yet issued a statement of their own about Myers' departure and has not announced a permanent replacement either.

Anarbor has a busy year, having released both The Natural Way EP in August and the Hearing Colours, Seeing Sounds EP, back in March. Another EP from the band is expected in Spring of 2009, with their debut full-length to eventually follow.

Will Myers' departure affect your appreciation for Anarbor's music? Can Anarabor survive as a band without Myers and her bass skills? Should they replace Myers with another female or is that unnecessary?

Relive the good old days of Anarbor with a hilarious interview the band with Buzznet's DJ Rossstar at Warped Tour on August 17 in Carson, California.

i'm sure they'll be looking for another girl bassist; they're an alright band, but they need something extra, like a gimmick.
