If you've come to this blog, then you probably have questions, concerns, complaints, or praise for your new Buzznet homepage. You can leave any issues as a comment below, but read through my explanation of all the new features that are available to you. I may just answer your question!

We redesigned your homepage because we know it's the one area most of you guys go to. (It's the same for me. My "homepage" for all my browsers is my personal Buzznet page.) We've cleaned up the page so that you can see and do more than you've been able to in the past, but removing the haphazard clutter that it brought with it. Simply put, it's far more organized than the last homepage.

On top of that, we've redesigned the Dashboard so that it's easier to personalize your own profile with skins, color themes, manage your friends, manage your enemies, and adjust all of your settings with just a click of the mouse.

If you do not want this view of your homepage, you can revert back to the "Classic View."

Please give the system a few minutes and clicks to acknowledge the choice. It'll change back.

As you can see, it's got a much more geometric aesthetic. Let's delve in to each section so I can explain it!

Header / New Private Messages


LOOK HOW AWESOME THAT IS. Right there, on your front page, you can change your profile photo, go to your dashboard, and get a preview of the 5 most recent messages in your inbox. Don't want to read them? Click [Clear All Unread Messages]. The box will disappear and those below it will move up one slot.

AWESOME. IT'S LIKE MAGIC. AND UNICORNS.

New Notes



Why thank you, Paxy! Now you don't have to scroll down or click "New Notes" on your dashboard. You'll have your new notes that friends left you previewed on your front page. To clear the box, just click [CLEAR UNREAD NOTES]. Voila!

Content Uploader

You don't have to go clicking around your control panel to post a new photo, video, or blog. We've put a Quick Uploader for each of them on the right side of the homepage.

Look at that. In all of them, you can click on "Go To Advanced...." to go to the normal full view.

New Bulletins

In keeping with the theme of having everything you might want to do or read within view, you also have a preview of bulletins that are unread:



Clearing new bulletins will make the box disappear and those below it slide up.

Activity Feed



We've updated the feed to include more updates from your friends. If you look along the top of the box, there are different tabs to click on.

Favorites:



Click on favorites to reveal all of the newly updated pages of your favorite people on Buzznet! (As you can see, I have way too many people as favorites. I blame you!)


Online:



Simply, it shows which of your friends are online right now.

Birthdays:



See which of your friends has a birthday today!

Groups:



Check a basic update of the groups you're a part of!

Top Friends:



Your top 12 friends is not stretched out so vertically. Also, it will be easier to manage your top friends, but I'll get to that in a second.

Your New Dashboard

Below your profile photo, click on "Go To Dashboard."

It will take you to your brand new Dashboard.



This is where you can manage every setting humanly possible on your Buzznet account.

Some new features....

Page Theme:



Underneath the "My Look" tab, you will find a place to change the theme of your page. Right now, there are a few limited selections, but these will be expanded in the future. On the right, you'll get a preview of what your page will look like.

Page Colors:



Very simple! Click "Custom Colors" to determine the layout of your homepage. (So it's not that boring blue and white.)

Manage Your Top Friends:



My favorite part!!! You can now rearrange your top 12 simply by clicking and dragging. You can add a friend my simply entering their name at the top.

Can't find a friend to add to your top 12? You can search through your full list by clicking the magnifying glass:


Very easy!

Blocked Users:



Enter a name to block a user. If you have blocked users, they'll appear below this. You can manage those people there. (I don't block anyone. Admin must see all!)
