At the VANS Warped Tour on July 23rd, 2011 prior to Of Mice and Mens set, we caught up with lead vocalist, AUSTIN CARLILE. Its well known that theres a stereotypical view concerning Carlile that he is, for lack of a better word, an asshole. Personally, I dont know what granted him this reputation, but Ive never met a nicer, funnier guy. Carlile is full of energy and is a very positive, happy person to be around, despite his height being very, very intimidating! Our conversation constantly varied, especially with him pausing for a minute to see a dragon fly, but nonetheless he was always all smiles. Its easily seen that Carlile does in fact love what hes doing and isnt hiding that for a second. Carlile further discussed with us the bands well known inside jokes, concerning nicknames, amongst more. We also discussed what its like being on the tour with his old band, ATTACK ATTACK, and were happy to say that Carlile has actually been hanging out with the band on tour and does in fact miss ATTACK ATTACK. Carlile was also the one to break the news to me that Amy Winehouse died - literally, in the middle of the interview. Carlile broke the news first! A running joke throughout the interview was fans making ".GIF" files of him and once mentioned, Carlile proceeded to constantly come up close to the camera, in order for fans to be able to make good .GIFS. Towards the end of the interview, Carlile finished with a smile and laugh by saying, "I love you guys - and make <b>...</b>
