'Hunger Games' Releases Dates, Philip Seymour Hoffman And Jena Malone Added To Cast

With the huge success of the first installment of the Hunger Games series, fans are already anticipating word on the succeeding films. Stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth are set to reprise their roles as the main protagonists of the series. The next film, Catching Fire, has already seen a change in director, with Francis Lawrence coming aboard, replacing Hunger Games director Gary Ross. Catching Fire, which is scheduled to start shooting soon, is set to hit movie theaters November 2013. Also to be seen on location filming Catching Fire will be new cast additions Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jena Malone.

The third book, Mockingjay, is going to be split into two films, with a part 1 and a part 2. Their release dates were just announced by Lionsgate, with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 set to hit theaters November 21, 2014 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 set for November 20, 2015. While it may be a good thing for the studio financially, fans are skeptical if the Mockingjay split can work. Only time can tell!
