"Why did you wait until today to pack, we planned this trip like six months ago." I question Josh as I placed help pack his clothes in his suit case. The passed six months have been absolutely overwhelming. I would say it all started with the day after Zac was shot. I had to pleaded my parents,but mostly my dad to let Josh live with us. Josh had tryed twice to commit suicide,filling that he had already lost Zac. The first time was with sleeping pills, luckly Jeremy's parent's got him to he hospital in time, and the second time he slit both his wrist after locking himself in the bathroom, but once again Jeremy's parent's got him to he hospital just in time. I made him promise that he would never try anything like that again or I would leave him,because I couldn't take him harming himself. Once he saw that I was serious he promised to never do it again. That following day after Josh made that promise to me was the day Zac woke up, I remember it like it was yesterday. (Flashback) I stood back as the electric slidding doors opened, and walked staight to the elevator,and pushing the up botton. "Hi I smiled at the two nurses as I entered the elevator. I carefully twisted the door knob,try not to spill my coffee,and slowly pushed it opened with my hip, quietly entering the room. "Hey." I smiled to Josh. He sot in his usual spot, in the ugly leather brown chair next to Zac's bed looking tired,exhausted and depressed.I just wanted to hug him and tell him that everything would be ok. "Hey."he says,his voice cracked and barely audible. I felt bad for Josh, I really do,I couldn't imagine being in his shoes, having my actual brother lying in that bed. Other than me Zac is all Josh really has.I can't imagine what it's like to loose almost everyone you love. "I thought you could use something to eat." I held out the chicken -fil- a bag waiting for him to take. "and some fresh clothes"I added "I'm not hungery." he said continuing to stare at Zac. I signed "Baby you have to eat. You haven't eaten in days,atleast eat half for me."I placed the bag in his lap giving him no option,but accept. After Josh finished eating I convinced him to have a shower,change his clothes and to get some rest. I waited for Josh to fall asleep before taking a seat in the chair next to Zac's bed, I took Zac's hand into mine saying a quick prayer. "Zac I don't know if you can hear me but, you have to wake up,you have to pull though. There are so many people here that love you.Josh needs you,we all do." It was all I could say before the tears came. I sot there for an hour holding Zac's hand beofore the unexpected happened.Zac's hand twitched, before I felt pressure on my own hand. "Zac?" I gasped.... I couldn't believe it. His eyes weren't open but his hand squeezed mine with a light grip. "Josh....Josh" I called out loudly not wanting to leave Zac's side. "Josh get a doctor." I called out once more causing Josh to stir. "Hayley why are you yelling?"Josh muttered. "Josh he's alive." I cryed,tears of joy. Josh shot up sprinting towards the door calling out for a doctor. within second Josh and a couple of doctors rushed into the room.Thats when Zac's eyes slowly opened. "We need to run some test to make sure everything is ok and to make sure he's not feeling any pain, So I'm going to have to ask you two to step out of the room for just a minute."Zac's doctor said. "No I'm not leaving my bother." Josh shouted. "Josh we have to. Let's call Jeremy and everyone and tell the the good news." I held my hand out for Josh to take. After calling eveyone letting them in on the good news Josh and I waited outside of Zac's room waiting for an update and for eveyone to show up. Demi and her parents were the first to show up,she was crying tears of Joy as well. Soon eveyone had made it including my parents. "Thank you Hayley." Josh suddenly says wrapping his arms around me and hugging me tightly,after he had spet the past thirty minutes just staring at the floor. I didn't bother to ask why, I just enjoyed the moment. Soon everyone was allowed to see Zac. Zac said he didn't remember anything not even being shot,all that he remember was me telling him that everything would be ok,and that eveyone needed and loved him... They never found the guy shot Zac,but the investigation was still open. (Flashback Ends) "Hayley....." Josh sang,waving his hands infront of my face,breaking my line of thought. "What?" I asked confused. "You asked me why I waited until last minute to pack? And I said I was waiting for you to help me, and you just totally tuned me out, are you ok?"
"Yeah I'm fine, but you should have been the one helping me pack, I am pregnant with you kid,you know?" I said tossing Josh's last t-shirt into his suitcase before zipping it up.. "Wait your your what?"Josh asked shocked placing his hands on my shoulder turning me to face him. "Pregnant" I said like it was no big deal,because it actually wasn't. "Are....Are you seriouse?" Well yeah do you think this is something I would joke about." I really couldn't hold it in any longer. I burst out laughing. "What's so funny about this, your dad is going to kill me" Josh said. "Babe I was joking" I continued to laught. "Hayley that wasn't funny." Josh said in a serious tone. "Yes it was you should have seen your face." I cracked up more. "Well if you think thats funny, you should know that I'm going to break up with after this trip,Torrey told me she would take me back, and I want to be there as a father figure for her son. But I since I told you I think we should just end it now" Josh said seriously showing no hint of sarcasm or joking around. I stop laughing. "Your fucking joking with me right." I snapped "Yeahhhh... I'm only screwing with you, that's what you get with messing with the master of pranks." Josh laughed aloud. "You an ass." I giggled jumping onto him, making him fall to the bed. "Ewwww gross... we've been waiting outside in the hot sun for like two minutes while you two suck face and having a tickle fight Zacsaid pretenting to be angry. "Oh two minutes Zac I'm so sorry." I laughed as Josh pulled me up from the bed. ******* "Bye honey,be safe and have a good time." Joanna called out as she ,dad and Chase waved as The gang and I piled into Jeremy's van. "Lets get this show on the fucking road." Taylor shouted as Jeremy started the engine. "Dude my parent's are right there.... atleast wait untill we get out of the driveway. I waved at my parent's one last time before we begain to leave. We had a long journey ahead of us. After graduation I convinced Josh and Zac into taking a trip to New Jersey to pay they're granparent's and younger sibilings a little visit. I smiled as Josh took my hand into his intwining our finger and placing a soft gentle kiss on the back of my hand. I love you he whispered in my ear. I love you too, I leaned up capturing his lips with a loving much needed passionate kiss. Hey cut that out,no freaky stuff in the back of my van Jeremy said causing eveyone to laugh.
From that moment and on I knew I had the bestest friends ever. I never really saw them as the wrong crowd,they were jusk kids that no one understood.....
